- MP3 VBR > 192 kbps not supported.
This is significant because it means that the A2 does not support content encoded with the recommended settings
for the L.A.M.E. encoder (widely recognized to be the best MP3 encoder available)

- CSD reader unstable when listening to music at the same time
(loading an ebook converted from PDF while listening to music regularly causes my A2 to crash)

This only affects file encoded with --vbr-new --vbr-old works with all profiles.
Also the profiles --preset insane and --preset extreme work without problems.
But it is a bug nonetheless.

The csd viewer has more problems for example I have to reboot the player to exit from comic viewer mode.

-The Text Viewer does not always remember the last position where you where in the file (workaround is to bookmark it to play list)

-The Video Player still does not support avi's created by ffmpeg if I remember correctly

please add .mpg/.dat support for now on. They require conversion after 1.59... thanks cowon, you're the best!

I have about 90 mpg videos mostly music video clips, and they all work but get stuck at 5% and you have to restart the player, when the player is restarted the video that was stuck at 5% works perfectly. bug?

What? *blink* What firmware version are you using, and are you referring to VBR audio tracks for video files, or straight MP3s? I use LAME VBR 0 (bitrates from 128-320kbps) full Stereo for my MP3s, and they work just fine on my A2. This is very odd. Perhaps there's a problem that was introduced in a later firmware, as I'm still on 1.59 (no mention of improved video codec support has REALLY been made or verified, so I've had no real reason to upgrade yet).

Maybe you can send me a file that your player is having problems with, or roll-back your firmware to 1.59 to see if that makes a difference. I wonder what's up here.

Same here ... Sometimes videos get stuck at 5% and after rebooting, they work fine. I got the impression that this happens a lot more often now than on earlier firmwares.

Not a bug !! but a calendar would be a nice toy .. and some kind of games framework (even mame emulation) would rock 100%

Well the A2 is still kinda laggy. I press pause in a movie and about 1- 2 secs later the movie pauses. Also i thought the A2 lists files alphabetically. Some of my folders do not do this and so i constantly have to go back and select a new vid that follows staight after the one i previously watch. It is quite annoying.
Does anyone else have this bug.

hobo: Did you try turning the power save feature off?
The A2 responds much more quickly when it's off.

This only happens once in a while, I turn my A2 on, start playing the first song and then the whole unit shuts itself off so then I need to restart and the problem is gone.

Off topic for a sec...Hey MCSmarties tnxs for all ur recommendations on mediamonkey,I downloaded it yesterday,it's great..any chance u could do a special thread in the forum of the many uses with A2?

yea, this is the main issue that's bugging me

the lame presets (like extreme or insane) will work because they are based on the old VBR algorithms

it is now recommended by the folks at hydrogen audio to use VBR-NEW

another issue is button lag... cowon a2 is slow [toungue]

edit: i request any MOD to delete any posts which do not contain BUGS... this is a BUG thread, not a "i want new/more features" thread.

I would like mkv and ogm support so that I do not have to convert these files.
