Default Winamp support

Winamp (version 5.32) now supports syncing your X5 with your music collection!

Okay Doniago, iaudio it is ;0) I still wanna know though!!!! :0)

Alright this is really going to give away my noob-ness... what IS synching???? I'm really new to the whole dap thing entirely and aside from blindly helping a friend with an ipod my iaudio is the only one I've ever touched (okay my mom just got a creative zen and I touched that once ;0) so when I transferred my music to my iaudio I just used windows and didn't encounter any synching this or that...I gather it has to do with associating your player with a music managment program or something? Can I have a total total noob explanation???

Sync'ing is using a 3rd party program (possibly a music organizer such as MediaMonkey, possibly a general sync tool such as Syncback) to essentially copy any/all files back and forth between your DAP and your PC. Better sync tools have different permutations of sync'ing (delete anything on DAP that's not on the PC, only copy music if it's listed in a playlist, etc).

The primary reason to do this is if you tend to make a lot of changes to files in your music directory at one time, and don't believe you'll necessarily remember them all. It's also somewhat easier than drag-n-drop in that once you've got things setup the way you want them, you only need to click a 'Sync' button and everything takes care of itself for the most part.

If you only tend to copy one CD at a time and/or don't do a lot of tag editing, sync'ing's probably a bit pointless. OTOH, I tend to edit lots of tags for different albums at one time, and it's much easier/faster for me to have a program keeping track of my changes and updating files as needed.

These days I use Mediamonkey for sync'ing to both my X5 and A2, specifically because it offers the option to sync a playlist (I only keep one playlist on my A2).

Huh. I guess I'm still not sure that I would need something like that... I suppose if I get to the point of needing it I'll probably start knowing that I'll need it! Right now I have about 20 gigs of music on my computer, it isn't tagged, it just has file names... I'm just gonna move it over in chunks... I won't make many changes to hwat's on my computer as I basically just have been using it as an archive... I'll add music to my computer from time to time and move it over to my x5 as I go... it doesn't sound like I'd need software to help me do this does it (it doesn't to me! ;0)

When I was watching the videos from CES 2007, the Cowon reps were all pronouncing it "coe in". The CNET people pronounce it that way as well.

I used to pronounce it "cow on"
