How fast was your reply? I e-mailed them 2 days ago with some questions, unfortunately it was before I learned about the two models.

According to the X5 on this website, already released in and available in Holland, these are the specs:
iAudio X5 - 20GB HD: 1.8 inch - 260,000 Colour LCD (1.8 inch) - USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) - Supports Codecs Such As FLAC, OGG, MP3 and WMA - USB OTG (On-The-Go) Function - Image Viewer - Video Player (No other information )- Can store files (Maybe view text?) - Approx. 5,000 Songs - ID3 Tag Support - 12 MB RAM, Anti-shock Buffer - FM Radio - FM Radio Recorder - Voice Recorder - Direct MP3 Encoding - Supports Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Mac OS - 2x20 Watt Maximum - Battery Life: 15 Hr. - Weight: 136 grams - Black Aluminum Casing If this is true, its both kind of disappointing. The battery life sucks, IMO. But it still is better than other DAPs with video capability. I still love it though. Love the design, love the alloy, love the color, love the features, just love it. Now for the waiting part. I so can't wait. I hope DAPreview will have some good information from the CES in the next few days on the X5.

The battery life really doesn't sound bad at all. But I thought the m3 could read text.

Yeah maybe we were expecting to much from the battery standpoint. I mean it was unreasonable to hope for 24+ hours. The battery life is actually on par with most DAPs anyways.
One thing I am worried about is that the control stick might protrude out too much, and that everytime you put it in your pocket it might get caught on something.

It's bound to have a lock.
I wish we knew more about the video (I guess we'll have to wait for reviews). How much is 136 grams? (I'm rubbish with weight and please don't give it to me in pounds, they mean nothing to me). What else weighs that much? |

Thanks, light then nice.
Oh and Dank u veel Aewon (the only Dutch I know. I once knew what Cheese was ).I'm definitely getting an X5. 15 hours is on the right side IMO, less than 12 hours would be very bad. It has the features of the Iriver H340 but with the size of the Iriver H10, essentially. p.s - I'm sure it can view text files (only plain text though). |

15 hrs for a DAP is not that bad. What would be great is if it had removable batteries like the new iRiver h10. Yeah it would cost more but if you are away from home and need the abililty to recharge with out recharging then swaping out the battery is great. What I would love to know is if it supports microsoft's digital managment thingy. You know playing protected WMA's? Will it work with any online music stores? If it won't then we are stuck with a life of ripping cd's or downloading music from music share groups.

Hey, it's an hour better than the M3, It would be nice to have more battery time but this is expected, not dissapointing.

CD's are cheap as chips now a days. I always prefer to buy the CD for my CD player and re-use it for my WMA needs. I always unprotect them.
I don't like the idea of paying to "download" music. I want a product I can hold if I'm paying for it. p.s - It's 20 hours less than the M3L though! |

Please note that the specs posted on wehkamp.nl are NOT all correct. E.g. the weight is wrong. The battery life has not been confirmed yet either.
Please be careful on what info you believe. Not all is true. No price has been set yet either. It might be lower than that.
