I just got my rma# for my defective G-3 and on the phone Young (jetaudio) told me that they (i5) are expected next week ! Of course you never know with release dates.

I saw this review for a blue-grey? I5 , and although I usually don't like blue I think this unit is sharp!!

Also, he informed me that i5 would support ogg Q10 and DRM right out of the box. Quite the little powerhouse

I also got a G3 for christmas and was worried about the joystick being a weak point in the unit(as it is). I just emailed the company asking about an exchange for the I5 becasue the jogdials seem much better. I read that you are planning on doing the same thing in another thread, and was wondering if you had mentioned this to the tech support on the phone and if so, what they said about it.
Thanks,
Ryan

About time it's coming out! Anyone have information on how the battery life actually is with regular usage?

Mmm, I thought maybe I had a defective joystick, being the joystick on my u2 works and feels so good. They really didn't say too much about the joystick when I told them how unresponsive it was. My unit also went dead, and I am just getting a refund - not really an exchange (but I will get i5 as soon as it hits) . But you do have 30 days for a refund or exchange , so you probably won't have a problem.

I don't know if cowon used a different joystick on the g-3 , it looks identical to the u2 one. If anybody else has these 2 units can you compare and let us know?

The exact problem I had, was my g-3 JS had a limited range of motion and sometimes I had to click or push maybe 5-6 times to get it to register.
Also the click motion was really short and if not exactly on center the button would'nt react. The click switch felt like it had no spring , like my u2 JS which is really nice. Maybe just a defect for us 2

Scott.

I think it will be here soon, seems cowon is trying to release overseas units quickly as possible after the Korean units hit.
