Here's a translation of the Korean post for V1.55 Beta 1. Can anyone translate the Korean translation?

IcAudio G3 firmware V1.55 Beta 1 release
Http: //ihome.iaudio.com/iaudio_board/ * & *
Automatic operation translation
- Trial shot point
* Shuffle always corrects the bug which is the same pattern.
* When shuffling and playback the bug where the part file leaks from the list correction
* When 1 inserting several hundred WMA files into the folder, the bug where trouble occurs correction

It updates to this latest edition firmware, it is necessary " to connect with recovery mode ".

If as for firmware update method with recovery mode connection here should have been referred kana?

Beta Edition in order the other than Korea not to be released, favorite one please with something (laughing)
End of translation.

I think it has the same bug-fixes (about shuffle)of the 1.51 firmware found on the US website, which has never appeared on iAudio Korea.
The third point of the list is clearly about a wma playback issue, i don't remember of it on 1.51.

Yet another hilarious machine translation:
Quote:
▣ iAUDIO }g{3 firmware }v{1.55 }beta{1 pe before

< The fact which is amended >

- To be sour phul the pattern is identical and the bug amendment which appears.

- The bug amendment where phul the remaking hour part file is excepted sourly from list

- When one pawl more putting in a possibility hundred WMA file inside, the problem amendment which becomes knock-down.

* This time pe the intention to fight firmware connects ep that RAID in a rehabilitation mode and and must do. To confirm an attention fact.

Default 1.55b1 reduces 2GB storage by 2264KiB

I tried-out 1.55b1 for a bit and noticed that my files wouldn't fit back on after the mandatory re-format (the first firmware upgrade for me that required recovery mode and formatting).

I don't know exactly how big my drive was before this, but here's the exact sizes after 1.55b1:
FAT32 drive is 2,071,724,032 bytes total space.
(Shows on the G3's screen as 1975MB in Status)

I then down-graded to 1.51e and now have this:
FAT32 drive is 2,074,042,368 bytes total space (recovering 2,318,336 bytes, exactly 2,264KiB)
(Shows on the G3's screen as 1977MB in the Status entry)
But my backup still didn't fit by a few megs! How much space did I have under 1.5beta?

Anyone else with a 2GB G3 care to compare their drive size? Please post your firmware version too. I wonder if the drive size has changed any other times.

I'm hoping this is just a language issue and that a final 1.55 English firmware wont take away any of my storage without giving me any useful features.

For now I'm sticking with 1.51e: anyone notice any reason to actually use 1.55b1?

I timed how long my almost-full 2GB G3 took to turn on in 1.55b1 and 1.51e, and 1.55b1 was about 2.8s faster (to the beep): 6.0s on 1.55b1 vs. 8.8s average on 1.51e.

So, that does look to be one improvement in 1.55b1.

They keep doing cosmetic changes to the firmware, but do not handle the more important and bigger requests... language support for one.. I would love to get some hebrew support (which btw was promised before) on my iAudio G3 - As I know many look forward to it as well...
Not to mention all the real issues that plague cowon's firmwares..

Hey guys you forgot to mention the fact that firmware 1.55 final is available now.
A translated changelog for the U2 1.65 firmware, which has the same bugs fixed, can be found here

Default Now that the real 1.55 is out...

Now that the real 1.55 is out, is it worth the trouble to install? I've got 1.51 and it always makes me nervous to switch. Not to mention the hassle of reloading everything.

Wow! I just noticed that 1.55 significantly improved USB transfer rates, now it's about 3.3MB/s to the G3 and 6.6MB/s from it. IIRC earlier firmwares could only do 2.5 and 3.5MB/s. Great job :bigthumbs

Thanks for the info Coop!
I did not update my G3 (1.51) until now, because I thought the updates were not important for me, but now I can confirm the USB transfer speed boost.
I measured 3.7 MB/s and 7.4 MB/s !

Hey, anyone get the problem where the G3 turns on automatically after unhooking the USB chord? This started happening after the 1.55 upgrade.
