Does any of iAudio's players support playsforsure or DRM? I know everyone out there hates miscrosoft and I admit I at one point or another wished bill gates could get an enema with rusty steal chewed up pipe. But if anyone has been paying attention to the news all major sources for download free music is closing down. So... Using Microsoft's DRM (digital rights managment) Napster will be offering in January a $15.00 a month all you can eat download. That's right! Download all the music your broadband or dialup can connection can get you. It beats itunes $0.99 a song deal (for 10,000 songs you will chalk out $10,000). So...back to question one, does iAudio carry microsoft's DRM?

because DRM sucks! I don't want to "rent" music when I pay for it, I want to own it and do whatever I like with it. And I don't like that a company tells me what I can do with a song I had legally purchased, e.g., burn it only 3 times to CD or transfer it only 5 times to a DAP. And I don't like the way most onlinestores demand that you use software xy to play your files or to download them at all.

Leviathan I couldn't agree with you more. This is a major reason why I bought my iAudio M3L. I can't stand thinking about using restricted music files. There's a good chance I would have an iPod right now if the iPod didn't do that copyright to the music files once it went on to its hard drive.

@taz
yep I think so, if you transfer files with the superfluous program itunes onto this device than you have to do something like that to get your music off to transfer it onto another computer for example:

While considering pre-ordering the iAudio x5, I emailed Suntec and asked if it was compatible with Microsoft windows media audio files 9.0+ (to download audiobooks from a public library) and if the x5 was compatible with Plays for Sure. Cowon answered: "Yes our units are compatible with Windows Media Player, and will soon be compatible with Play for Sure."

Is this new? Has anyone had tried to use the Windows Media Player on the iAudio?

man i dont even see why people would support these companies anyways, except for the fact that they would want to stay out of legal trouble...but still...its a total rip. P2P sharing is the future...
