Default I´ll buy two Sony´s earphones, need some advice

These are the 2 earphones which I´ll buy from Amazon dot com:

I´ve read about the cable from the 71' family, they "melt". What about the 51' ?

My 51s lasted all of 2 weeks before the left channel went. No more Sony for me. Shame, great bass.

i have MDr-EX51LP, i used to have to listen at like 13-15 even in the quietest place, but now i can have it at 1-5 (in class and such) and it sounds great, and the inner ear bud gives bass without volume, so its great

Well, I´ve purchased the Sony´EX71, which will be here on Saturday...
Unfortunatelly I´ve read a LOT of reviews around the world...this thing about the "melting" cable are minor cases (I hope so hehehehe)When I´ve tested the 51´, using a Sony Ericsson K750i, the sound was suberb...powerfull bass and great treble sounds.

Guys, forget the Sony Fontopia line...

...they've got huge quality problems due to the fact that they farmed out manufacturing for these to China some time in the last 18 months.

Here's a much better alternative: Sennheiser CX-300's. See my review and other's comments here. If you like the amount of bass in the Sony's, you will likely love the Sennheisers for giving it to you (and then some) but in a much tighter, punchy, and detailed manner.

Highly recommended.

Oh yeah -- $39.99 shipped in the USA at amazon.com. You can't go wrong.

Sony's IEMS are pieces of shit. I've heard some good stuff about their DJ style cans though. Do your own research at head-fi.

...click here for the latest prices. I managed to pick up a second pair (black) on Friday night for $38.00 plus shipping before yonies.com ran out of stock. We'll see if I actually get them (supposedly they shipped today). Looks like those were introductory prices, but keep checkin' Amazon.com -- their prices seem to fluctuate from day to day.

They're right up there on the shite list with the Fontopias dude. Try the MDR-7506's or MDR-V6's if you want some decent Sony cans... :bigthumbs
