Hi,
I have just got my remote. It's fine with the bundled earphones that came with the x5, and with another cheap set I have. But with Shure E3s I get a clicking/static noise, coming through the earphones, most notable in quiet sections. Even when I place the music on pause, I can hear a regular, intermittent static style noise. Has anyone else had this? Is it similar to the problem that people had with the early rio carbon pearl player that dished out static to earphones that had a metal ring touching the outside of the player? I've tried searching the forums but can't find anything about this? Can anyone help me? Atrac

I found that i could hear a slight reduction in sound quality (static) when the remote for my old M3 was plugged in. (one of the main reasons i got an X5) Try listening to the radio with and without the remote plugged in. It makes a big (negative) difference to reception.

Hiya,
I will try using the radio - but this is playing mp3s. So the problem isn't to do with the radio. And it's definitely not just because you can hear more with the better quality shure's - there's something dodgy going on!
