video ripping/converting/playing problems

I am completely stumped on how to get videos to rip, convert, and format. First, i used DVD decrypter to rip the dvd to a folder, and then i try and convert the video with the jetaudio software. Looks good on paper.
When i tried to do this, it either froze up the moment i clicked "convert," or shortly afterwards. On the rare occasion that it actually did make it through and entire dvd, when i tried to play it back to make sure it was really there and formatted, it said that it encountered and error, and all of my running programs close.
I then tried to use ireverter, thinking that it was a problem with dvd decrypter, but it too froze up, or produced files that would not play and would close all of my running programs.
Finally, i used the guide for ripping dvd's to the iaudiox5, and i cannot find the "dvd decrypter" that he uses to make the guide, and apparently the "dvdfab decryter" which i was using did not work. A solution to ANY of these problems would be very much appreciated, or any information that could help me get dvds onto my iaudiox5 would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

How about this:

go into iriverter. Click the little DVD/CD button. Select your movie and your device (X5, blah blah fps, kbps blah blah) select your output. Click convert.

See what happens.

thanks for the replys, but still the problems happen. Let me be more specific about the errors i encounter. When using Ireverter, if i even open a folder that has the data that i converted in it (i dont even have to click on the actual folder) it says that microsoft has encountered an error. If i try to play it with jetaudio, it says that jetaudio encountered an error. If i use jet audio, it just freezes during conversion. (I have tested this MANY times, and it always freezes at the same spot. I've ripped, reripped, and ripped with different software, but i cannot find the problem). I also have plenty of memory on my comp, and ive successfully ripped 1 dvd, but it just wont work again.

Also, i have tried EVERY guide on this site and followed the instructions, but to no avail. ANY help is appreciated, once again.

I've had problems where files that have been created using iriverter crash my media player(s) (including a few that are well known for being very very hardy!) and if I have them all sent to one folder I can't even open that folder in windows as windows attempts to read a bit of the first file to show the thumbnail and as soon as that happens explorer.exe (windows desktop) crashes.

Saying that however... if I just ignore all the warnings and still copy those files/folders onto my X5 they still play fine. Could you be having the same thing?

Its very possible that that is whats happening. I do not physically have my iaudio (until christmas) so i havent been able to try and do this, but i hope it works, because its getting very annoying not being able to get my videos all converted in advance. Thank you.
