Default Question about WIRELESS remote for X5L?

I am new here and I am buying the X5L tonight from newegg.com

I really want the wireless remote for ease and due to the fact it is less wear and tear on the joystick. Questions

1) I cannot seem to find much info on this. Does it use a battery or what? I don't understand how it can be wireless without a battery, and if it does use a battery what kind and what are the specs?

2)Being it is wireless, will it have any affect on the sound like the wired remote does? I read the wired remote can decrease the sound quality?

Sorry for the questions, but I just cannot find info on this! Thank you!!

Can you list your sources on this statement. I have a wired remote and the sound is just as good as without the remote. Also, where did you see a wireless remote? Thanks.

hmm i don't know. It shouldn't have any effect on the sound, being as it just sends it from one thing to another...

hmm, very interesting.

for those who can't find it, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16855996506

I hate to bust your bubble but that remote isn't wireless even though newegg says it. Just search the product number. I got the same remote, it's wired.

A wireless remote control, Ahhhhh ...
The ONE & ONLY accessory that lets me think of buying an iPod.
A black universal dock with remote control would be just sweet in combination with my black baby (X5).

Ohh, just woke up  - what a nice dream! Hmmmm ...:nutty:

Bluetooth remote would be great. I'd settle for wired headfones connected to either the remote or the X5 but I'd really love to get rid of all the wires including the headfones. Another useful connection would be cell phone feeding into the same remote and headfones.

Hmm, I don't think I would mind a bluetooth remote. I'm not really happy with the bluetooth headset sound quality. I'm hoping that the bluetooth headsounds sound bad because of the headset design and not because of the bluetooth. I would love to use my Shure's with a bluetooth remote. I wouldn't have to worry about taking out my huge x5 out of my bag. It'll be like a nano with 20gb. Gosh. . I'll just have to wait till someone invents this.

I tried the remote for the X5: it generates clicks for every button you push, that's rather annoying when changing volume, for example.

This guy also means the remote makes the X5 sound worse: http://phonephile.blogspot.com/2005/...iver-h320.html

So The Conclusion We Have All Come To Is That There Is No Wireless Remote Out There?

I don't know about your remote but I don't hear any clicks when I use the remote buttons. Also, I listen to my music at level 20, I don't know if that helps.

I heard that certain headphones don't generate clicks, maybe it's only on headphones that have a very low impedance (mine has 11 Ohms).

I don't get any clicks on my wired remote, either.
