I know some people were looking for a better pic of the X5 inside the ZCover, so i took a couple of shots. The case is a perfect fit and allows easy access to all the buttons while adding an extra layer of protection to the allready indestructible X5, money well spent.

That looks nice... you can hardly even tell from the picture that it's got an extra layer on it. Does the zcover give it much protection? a different feel? screen protection? thanks for posting some quality pictures.

It will definitely keep the player from getting everyday wear and tear scratches and the solid plastic screen protector seems pretty sturdy. It also has a rubber seal around the edges to keep it from scratching the face of the player. I wouldn’t suggest dropping it on cement but it definitely serves its purpose. As far as the feel it's made of silicon, so it has a nice "gripping" feel to the touch. I originally had the MisticAudio case, but I always liked the look and feel of the ZCover.

hey, audio - is that the gray or black case? from zcover's site, it doesn't appear that the black is so transparent. curious - i like the look of yours and might pick up the same.

thanks,
a

That is the Grey case. I picked it mainly because of the fact that it was slightly transparent.

Yeah. I got the black one which isn't transparent. But it protects the unit which is the main thing. It does pick-up pocket lint and that kind of stuff. A wipe down with a damp cloth gets rid of fluff. The other thing is, my X5L is not likely to take a dive off my glasstop desk with the cover. Before that, I used to get tangled on the X5L and it would slide off at the slightest pull on the headphones.

I want to get either a gray or blue zCover case as soon as I can sell my X5l Misticaudio case. Nice pictures.

can you only order it from the zcover site? $29.99 plus $8.50 shipping seems steep, but i'm guessing since the x5l isn't that popular yet it's not going to be in stores any time soon and there probably aren't any competitors or resellers.

it is steep. 8.50 for shipping that 12 oz piece of rubber? give me a break, they are making so much money on shipping alone.

yeah exactly, i just had the entire x5l 30gb shipped over night for that same amount... i know it's not a lot of money but that's still seems like a rip off for this case...i'm not saying it's not a good product... just seems a bit expense. with extras it's starting to look like ipods are just so popular that intuitive extras are made by lots of people at reasonable prices.

How's the plastic window on the zCase?

Is it replacable? How easy to scratch?

They probably sell very few of these and therefore need to gouge on the price. from the looks of the site it's not a hugely successful company.

Either that or they're just bloodsuckers.
