You can't have all of the bells and whistles and expect a good battery life. This was made for those that want a pure audio device and have a smart phone to take care of the rest of their needs. You have the sound quality, the SD slot, and the epic battery life.

Also, Cowon also has the Q7 Plenue on their website. It appears to be a 7in tablet. They also have two windows 7 devices up too. More announcements maybe?

I agree with LWKING - the Cowon X9 and the X7 are part of Cowon's "Super Player" line-up which characterized by incredible battery life. And in order to achieve this, Cowon has to use low-power components, i.e. a lower-res screen. And the price looks very nice IMO, $260 for 32gb is cheap compared to Cowon's other players.

really appreciated.
For me its the low storage that is thew problem.
I never use the bluetooth as I can find a really good headphone yet (For walking/cycling/fitness) does anyone want t recommend a set.

No Android = Good. Android would kill the battery life.
Also, for Android Cowon created the "Plenue" line-up. The A5 might be a candidate for you.

Is this really supposed to be the X7 successor? For me it is a lot more like the J3 successor. It is a flash-storage based player, with hardware buttons to fully control the music. Like the J3, only with a bigger screen, a much better battery life and a few more sound settings.

What is with these microsd slots in a player that big? Why can't they put in a full sized sdxc slot? 128gb sdxc cards are plentiful now, under $100 if you shop carefully, so that would be much better as an X7 replacement. Heck, they could put in several slots. The Nokia N800 had two full sized SD slots that can handle SDXC cards, so you can put 256MB in one.

Also about it being a pure audio player: with a 4.3" screen, no I don't think so. The thing is huge. Cowon i10 or C2 or whatever is much more like a pure audio player. Or the Sansa Clip+ is a really pure audio player.
