After installing Cheetah i've accidentally switched back to standard main menu and can't switch back (copying it again doesn't help). Any chance to roll back changes without reset?

Read the J3 manual, chapter "Display" on page 15, to see how to go from one mainmenu to another.

Hi, Kizune.
I've made some widgets for CheetahXT but the widgets list does not scroll, so i cannot test them. Don't have acces.
I can only test them on my Cowon S9. Maybe is not the right place to post this.
.
edit: the first new widget appears in list under menubar, but no scroll.

Kizu,
I've been meaning to ask if you plan on making a way to lock the screen or turn off the screen without using the physical buttons? This is not a request. Just me being curious again.

Also: Did you do something to the multi-bar? I don't remember what was there before, but now the 'second screen' on the multi-bar is just one big button that doesn't do anything. While I don't remember what it was before, I definitely do remember that it wasn't like this! Any ideas?

This is impossible due to firmware limitations.

Once again I refer to the spreadsheet.

"Widget "Multi Bar": Added a page with a button to drag&drop the widget"

I'll start a live stream in 30-60 min.
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/kizune

What you will see today:

I re-coded Cheetah GTX' base class once again because I found out anonymous functions and anonymous function closures are supported in ActionScript when you use a small workaround. If you don't know what anonymous functions are and you aren't a programmer, then don't ask what these are - you just need to know that they are very useful.

Back to topic (what you will see in the live stream): I'll finalize the settings screen and then start working on a very basic theme so I can use the UCI on my player.

You could use the program AutoHotkey to bind this scentence to a key combination. Would save you a lot of time.

Typing that sentence manually doesn't take that much time.

@all: By the way, I'll start another live stream in ~ 1 - 1.5 hours.

Development Status:

The following features have to be developed, then Cheetah GTX will replace Cheetah XT:
- Picture Viewer
- Lock Screen
- Standard Theme

The WP7 theme in Cheetah XT was just an experimental theme to test Cheetah's API.

What are the benefits of Cheetah GTX over Cheetah XT?

- Improved performance (Cheetah keeps certain components in the RAM when the UCI is left which shortens the loading time immensely)
- Improved API (error messages, g-sensor support, better theme/app structure,...)
- Small improvements of the UI
- ...

In the long term, Cheetah GTX is in all ways superior to Cheetah XT. It's easier to debug, easier to maintain,... And for third-party developers the API is now very user-friendly which makes creating apps and themes very easy.

I would really appreciate if you also include the WP7 theme in Cheetah GTX. I did not like the look in the beginning but now I love it.
Great work so far, Kizu!

Hi,

Thanks a lot Kizune for the immense work. I seldomly comes here at the moment, due mainly to separation, change of home and organisation around it.

Just a question. I tried in the bottom menu the arrow pointing towards upper-left. Since then, I have a blank screen with only the top menu, and the scrolling menu. Impossible t o come back to the usual interface.

Anyone a suggestion how to clear this? Reboot does no change the state of the player. Should I erase something in a file plugged into USB?

Many thanks again Kizu!

Greg

Kizu,
I was thinking: Perhaps it would be helpful to some if you were to update your posts of the live streams with an announcement when they have ended. Since they may not always be of the same duration?
