I certainly haven't given up or gotten rid of mine, but I can't find the darn thing! It's probably someplace among all the junk in my room, since I came back from a trip with it in my overnight bag, and then my mom visited and took all the stuff out of the bag. But there is some chance it is permanently lost.

There are all kinds of reasons to not care about the D2 in this day and age, and I've got plenty of other players that perhaps make more sense, but I find I miss the D2 and I think of buying another one. I like that it used a standard mini-USB connector instead of proprietary, and had a full sized SDHC slot. It's especially interesting that it handles SDXC cards if you format them to VFAT. It apparently works with the Lexar 128GB card, which came out over a year ago, and you have to figure 256GB cards will come out pretty soon. So you've got a tiny solid state player beating the fruit company's hard disk players in capacity.

Another nice thing is that the battery is (compared to some players) relatively easy to replace. You can get drop-in replacements from Cameron Sino or can solder in a cellular phone battery. There is another thread about how to do this. I prefer devices with removable batteries but worst of all is when the device needs a battery that's impossible to find. That is the situation with some other Cowon players including the i7.

Is it easy to replace the battery in a J3?

I still have mine. I cant find anything which can replace this yet. Very tempting to get another one, though I just bought a Z2 too :-)

I still use my 4Gb D2 on a daily basis and I haven't even thought about replacing it (using it for about 4 years now). Battery life has decreased a bit, but is still better then most other players out there. Still love the thing no matter what any apple Ipod fanboy says ;-)

I still have my Red 4GB...But the screen is broken and I heard that it's nearly impossible to fix...My sister broke it and I was angry at her for days...Luckily my S9 is still running!

Just bought a 4GB D2 off of Ebay and I'm falling in love with it all over again. Now I need to figure out if I should Rockbox it or not....

Yay!!! I just found mine, that had been missing for probably about a year. It had found its way into a bag of unrelated stuff in my room, that I hadn't looked in for a while. I turned it on and it lit up, but indicated that its battery was low. Its internal clock also looks to have drifted by a couple of minutes, which I guess is not too bad. It's charging up now. It has some cool music on it that I had forgotten about so I'm looking forward to playing it again.

Hello! (i think this is my 1st post here)

I still have my D2, and i bought it like 2 years ago? (maybe 1/2)

I had many mp3s before but they usually broke down so when my dad bought me this one was the best day ever!

It's perfect for me!!! had so many things and the capacity (16GB) is so great!

i know that there are other cowon devices with a better apps and stuff but i just can't change my D2+ *-*

Still have a 2GB D2, with an old 4GB SD Card. We use it in my sons room (he's 2 1/2) and he listens to an album every night before bed. Still going strong!

Still? Still?! It's my main DAP! And it will be for as long as I can be able to keep it "alive". Internal battery is the main concern - although there are replacements, I don't know for how long they'll be producing them, so I still got my AA-powered G3 as a backup for these dark ages to come.

i wouldn't necessarily call the battery internal as the battery has a 3pin connector rather most today being soldered for most devices. it's actually an easy process of replacing the battery

Well, it's not a built-in battery, but it's certainly not an easily and fast replaceable one, like AA/AAA batteries or even accu-packs like those in DSLRs or some cell phones. There is no lid to open with your fingernail and replace the battery; you have to open the chassis to do it, so I called it an internal battery. But, as I said, it's not the thing that worries me the most - I'm afraid that they stop manufacturing those replacement batteries right before I'd need it.

This solution is only half good, because battery in my D2+ is perfectly fine and fairly new, so I'd have to buy this new battery and put it on the shelf for god knows how long, a couple of years, probably. And they do get old, if they only lie around and are not kept busy. Well, anyway, half-decent battery is better than a bad one, isn't it?
