According to one of the comments on Amazon, the CaseLogic Universal Blackberry Case works nicely in conjunction with the silicone skin (I think that's what it called) from Rearth.
The Blackberry case has a belt clip, if that's something you're interested in. |

http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-Ver...0280093&sr=8-2 It needs to be used with this for a snug fit: http://www.amazon.com/Rearth-Ringke-...d=GYDU80711AG6 Sadly, I don't think it comes in any other colors but black. I think I may pick these up. The belt clip will be nice for when I'm not wearing a jacket. Granted, I'm not sure where you're located, but I plan on hitting a Best Buy (or similar) first and checking the fit of some of these. After that, I'll shop at Amazon. Those look like a good fit too. The J3 may be alittle too tall, but looks good.

That's the route I went, scubaboy (I saw that comment too). I don't like keeping a lot of stuff in my pockets, so I much prefer to use belt clips. The case/skin should be delivered this week, so if it all works out, I'll let you know how it goes.

You might want to consider an extra charging cable, because it only comes with one, and it's a funky Korean standard. If something should happen to that cable... I don't have to finish this sentence.

i'd second the charging cable.
yeah mines seen some rough treatment but after having a connection short circuit (due to chair steamrollering and general kicking about) i stripped off the rubber casing of the socket to fix it and discovered it's far from lovingly put together, it on par with the lowest quality 2 dollar ebay cables, the cable doesnt even sit more than 1mm inside that casing so theres virtually no support where it counts. thats where the short occured (partially due to the ground wire being open to connection with another instead of sealed up as it should be), the virtually non existent cable to socket glue failed, cable pulled out a lil, a few lil unnoticed twists n it shorted. Spatula & Enzyme: Good call on the cable, I've already got one on order, along with the AC adapter for charging.

Well, all of my accessories were delivered, but I can't pick-up the "skin" until Wednesday (no room in my mailbox).
The REALOOK screen protector is quite nice and comes with everything you'll need. The J3 kit is a very good match, rather than a "one size fits most" type. The "universal blackberry case" is rather disappointing. There's no "depth" to the case, as it's simply two sheets of leather sewn together along the sides (you'll have to "break it in" like a baseball cap). The Amazon item description says there's a "soft internal lining" and "expandable elastic sides" but the item I received has neither... The top flap is entirely too wide and blocks the headphone port, unless you put the J3 in slightly skewed (which might not even be possible with the "skin" on it). The magnetic closure seems to be strong enough to keep the J3 contained in a horizontal position (the belt clip rotates), but I'm not willing to test it. I won't be sticking with the "universal" case and will continue to look for something better. Here's J3 (without the "skin") wedged into the "universal blackberry case" Last edited by D-Money; 02-28-2012 at 12:32.. |
