Most likely it will work fine. I have no problem using any adapter for my 64 GB card.

It's been a while since i came here, I've been a happy A3 user for almost 4 yares now, but about a week ago I lent it to a friend who instantly broko the joystick. I couldn't be any sadder, my life almost depended on my A3.

But enough of that. I´ve been looking for possible replacements and i have to hurry because since I live in a land far away I have to buy now that a friend is in the USA and can bring it.

The J3 is not available anymore, so my question is: can the 64gb microsdxc trick be done on either the D3 or the Z2?

Thanks for any swift answers! And forgive my rusty english

Does anyone have any idea about this? I'm just looking on Amazon.uk and there appears to be a 12quid difference in price.

You should be able to do this on the D3 & Z2. Other people I know use 64GB cards on their Android devices.

You may also have the option of formatting to NTFS. I think Gingerbread (2.3+ - what they're running) can handle it. I know 3+ can.

Otherwise, stick with the FAT32 and formatting tools recommended.

I know the 64 works on the Z2 as it supports SDXC. I don't know about the D3 but it should as well. It says it supports SDHC on cowon.com.

It says so here. Just look at post #114 and #115.

Probably need to format it to FAT32 however. also post #110 says that he is using on the D3.

ApocalypticDoom:

The post says the Z2 uses the 64gb SDXC card - but so do the J3, D2,.. even though they don't support SDXC.

It depends on if the SDCX card uses the SD 3.0 or SD 4.0 standard. SD 3.0 is supported by SDHC readers, SD 4.0 isn't.
The problem is, future SDXC cards will use the SD 4.0 standard because it provides a better transfer rate. And then it's important if a player contains an SDHC or an SDXC reader.

Is there any reliable way of telling 3.0 and 4.0 apart? Preferably without having to buy and test it, of course.

SD 4.0 cards have an additional pin.

Is that something that can be seen without opening the package? Also, pictures please?

Depends on the package - if it's transparent you can see it, otherwise you can't. Pretty obvious, isn't it?

That's an SDXC card. On the right side there's an extra pin.

Formatted the card on windows 7 using GUIformat program,
using the external SDXC , however unable to manage or transfer songs on Windows XP OS system using the Komputer bay external SDXC card reader. Worked fine fine on a Windows 7 PC.
So is there a workaround on working with the 64gb sandisk microsd on Windows XP PC
