Default Bricked D2+/Help with loading media on faster

Just got my D2+ in the mail today and it's already given me loads of pain. My latest problem is that in the process of loading all of my music (first I tried throwing everything on, and the database corrupted, and I found out I had to put it on in segments.) it skips the "loading database" portion of the bootup and goes straight to the main menu... where nothing is touchable. I can't do anything on it.

I'm using a Mac unfortunately so I can't just sync it with MediaMonkey as much as I'd like to. Any help with getting my new toy up and running quicker?

EDIT: I just tried reinstalling the firmware and it still freezes at the main menu. What do I do?

yeah that can be a pain in the ass.

for years now i have used dbpoweramp AND mp3tag to edit and strip un=needed tag info, the best bet in my exp is to remove any and all un-needed tag info as well as stripping all but 1 tag versions, that way theres less shit for the player(any player) to parse into a database.

this speeds up db refresh AND avoids ALOT of problems on alot of different players...I have yet to see a single player thats got truely universal and proper tag support.
