I don't own a D3, but something similar happened to my X7.
The default folders started showing-up with names like '[]'. This happened after the player 'hung' during a file transfer, forcing me to reset the player without being able to properly 'eject' the player from the computer, and that lead to some file system corruption on the player. After a reset, I reconnected the player to the computer and used Windows Explorer to delete the folders with names like '[]'. After that (or perhaps after that plus re-installing the firmware), the default folders appeared normally. |

I should note that the only folders on my X7 with corrupt names like '[]' were those intended to hold user data, like 'music'. None of the names of folders holding system files were altered in my experience.
