Pass. Android is nice, but it does not belong on a PMP. It's too "bloated" for a device like this. Apps? Really, Cowon? PMP's should be media centric, offer good file format support, have good battery life. Also, why Eclair, just go with Froyo or wait for Gingerbread. I also don't see Cowon releasing Android upgrades for this device. The user community on the other hand, is a different story. BTW, I have an Android phone.

It's almost 2011, and 32 GB should be the absolute minimum for a PMP of this nature. 64 GB should also be offered. IF MS and Apple can offer those options, then certainly Cowon can too. Offering 8/16 GB is a disgrace to this player. If microSD cards were cheaper and came in higher capacities, then I could maybe see the reason for the 8/16GB options.

^ The CPU in the D3 isn't P3 500 MHZ. Those are the recommended minimum specs you need for your PC.

My old D2 is still running fairly smoothly and I still listen to it over my iphone (I kinda messed up my headphone jack so I can't put headphones in it lmao)

Doesn't sound much like the D2, but I have hopes in the name.

Yeah.... I'll pass on this one, solely for the fact that battery isn't as good as my s9. IMO, the D3 should have close to the s9's capabilities for battery, and its time for me to get a new phone anyways.

Goodbye Cowon, your brand is no longer what it used to be.

I think this D3 is for those ppl who were asking Cowon to make device with all wi-fi and bluetooth stuff. If you do have mobile phones with these or even netbooks or anything else, or if you don't need it, Cowon has J3 (which is the best PMP) for you.

How did they calculate the battery time? Is that the longest time without the BBE effects? Does it mean battery time is actually shorter in real use? I wouldn't mind if they made it a bit thicker with longer battery time to go with it.

Anyone have an idea on the eta?

And is there a camera built in? Lots of Android apps use a camera.

What is with you people?! It seems like Cowon can't please you guys(and gals) no matter what product it releases. For many of you have been clamoring for that WiFi, android device along with the high resolution amoled screen, you finally get it and what does Cowon get for their efforts? More complaining! This product looks awesome! The prospect of watching FULL hd quality videos on this along with Cowon's exceptional audio and web browsing ability has me totally salivating. Seriously, if it's not this then it's that. What? You want this thing make you coffee too? Or perhaps it should make your bed for you and have breakfast ready in the morning? I appologize for the rant it's just that this could be a really stellar product and I feel it's not getting the recognition it deserves.

I'm not sure how it could get whatever level of recognition it deserves when AFAIK nobody's had the opportunity to play with it yet...

While your concerns regarding others' concerns aren't necessarily unjustified, I'd ask you to moderate your tone a bit going forward. Thanks!

People will always have what could be the perfect player in mind. Cowon can't satisfy everyone so there will some complain. It's too early to have a impression on it when no knows how it will really perform. Like the battery time. Do you know what settings they use to test it? Is that the longest audio time or did Cowon test it in a way audiophiles will use it.

Well.. so many people so many wishes I guess. I feel you're about right when it comes to functions. This thing can do practically anything. Although the coffee part you suggested, that would be nice :-) Downside is that all this functionality drowns the battery, which displeases some of us. Still not much to complain. It's just that some of us were really looking forward to this release and when it doesn't grand our whishes it's dissapointing. That's all really. If that's not the case for you, good thing!

For me personally, it's just about capacity. Other than that Cowon allready delivers all I need (except for airplay perhaps :-)). If they announced a 64Gb J3, I would have been dancing from happiness. If the released the D3 with 64 Gb or used a sdxc slot, even better. But that's not the case. I've been waiting for years for a product to replace my trustworthy Iriver iHP140 and I find it unbelievable that a good replacement still isn't available. All I hope for is a bit of capacity on top of the greatness Cowon offers us. HDD disappeared, flash came.. and everytime there are rumours about a Cowon product I get excited and when it's released disappointed because I can't stuff my music on there. I believe that releasing a player in 2011, you just can't do without a 64Gb model. Others may disagree. I'm just not willing to pay $ 400,00 for a player and end up deciding which albums to remove everytime I buy a new CD which I like to add to my DAP. That's just too much stress for me :-). I am willing to pay $ 500,00 for a player which gives me 5 years of air though. Like I said it's just personal.

The D3 delivers more than I could ever dream of and all I wished for was 32 extra GB or even better a sdxc slot. Something I would never expect and find hard to believe, but that's just what happened. It seemed like DAP's developed fast on every aspect but capacity.

You're right, the D3 does deserves credit. It looks good and has a lot to offer. If it works like it is advertised it is a great player which should kick the Touches ass. Still I ask myself what is Cowon aiming for. People have smartphones allready. Carrying arround an iPhone and a D3 means you walk arround with two devices that can do practically the same with one difference, the iPhone actually is a telephone which everyone is carrying arround anyway. (The soundquality doesn't do it for me though) So I would say: Cowon focus on what you're good at: Making DAP's with high quality audio. I'm affraid they will loose the battle for most of the features the D3 is offering simply because you get all that functionallity with a phone which you need anyway. And those are 'free' when bought through a provider. The D3 is pretty expensive when you look it at that way, which makes it mostly attractive for people who want a musicplayer. Which brings me back to capacity and batterylife. In my opinion it just seems like you pay for loads of features that are allready offered by your phone and let's be honest, the D3 will probably not work as good on that department as a Samsung or a iPhone. I hope the first hands on reviews proof me wrong. Still I wouldn't mind all the extra juice, just not sure if I'm okay with it drowning the battery... and did I mentioned capacity allready?? :-)

Just thought about this: when you walk arround with a D3 and a iPhone , your worth about $ 1.200,00. Geez.. lol
