Default did you go D2 to O2? need your input

if you went D2/D2+ to O2 i'd like to know what your opinion of that move was then and what it is now. obviously i have read the ABI review and read others along with this forum and ABI's since the product first came out when i decided to hold onto my D2 turned into a D2+. wife wants myself to get an audio environment going for our sons bedroom and as i have so many non-microSDHC cards laying around for our "D2+'s" i am looking at the O2 just to keep costs down.

well hoped to get a response shortly after the post but at this point it is back to looking at the J3 due to time constraints.

I had the D 2 and then purchased the 0 2 to use for long international flights from the US to Asia. IMO both have excellent sound quality as all cowon players do. Videos look much better on the 0 2, again in my opinion. The only downside to the 0 2 for me was the shorter battery life. But now, most of the flights have an A/C plug and that solved that problem. When I am in hotels, I can watch my complete video collection using a TV out cable ($10 from jet mall) and the quality is comparable to the a DVD on most sets. You appear to be in the same quandary as I am-which of the cowon players should I get? I think the choice is dependent upon what your primary needs are: video or just audio or both and battery. I think you would be happy with either player as cowon makes the best audio/pmp players available. Good luck and Fleas Navidad.

Still got my D2 - it works flawlessly for music. I got tired of converting video for the D2 after like two weeks, so haven't been doing that. I also find the screen on the D2 too small for videos.

Will be doing some long travels in 2011, 20 hour flights (inc transfer) and decided to go for the O2 just for watching movies and series on the go. Key feature here is no converting of tons of video and tv shows that I already have lying around on my disks.

Did go through other options such as Q5, V5, J3 and other Cowon products, and also looked at Zune, Arcos and iPod Touch - and read about these as well. But the combination of codec support, battery life, screen size and price made the O2 winner, hands down. Note that I paid just over $200 for the 16GB version, and that is a really good price here in Norway where I live. They used to be almost twice that...

Battery life on the O2 is an issue, no doubt - it's good, but I wanted more - so I ordered a battery pack which takes regular AA-batteries as this will make it easier to just pick up some batteries from the nearest store anywhere in the world. I don't like to carry around "twenty" different chargers, with adapters for different wall sockets...

Had my O2 for a week and it delivers as expected. Ok, the interface could be easier, but if you use it mainly for video it is excellent. Simply love the resume function. If you can get it cheap, now is the time to buy!
