Default Can Firmare Update Improve Battery Life?

The title says it all. Currently have the i 7 and the older XL 30 gb hard drive player and want to upgrade to the i 9. But with the somewhat low battery life, the D 2 may be a better choice for me because of frequent international travel. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi,

I just got the i9 a few days ago. I guess that theoretically firmware updates could improve battery life (perhaps with the use of different caching methods), but probably not by far.
Before I bought the i9 I did some comparisons in the store, and since the d2+ is much bulkier than the i9, I can only assume that you could stuff a larger battery inside it.

If battery life is very critical for you, I guess you should go with the d2+. Please do consider the fact that the i9 supposedly supports up to only 29 hours of use w/o charge, but the charging process itself is twice as fast.
