Sad U3 USB eject - charge problem

Hey guys,

My U3 has worked fine for as long as I can remember, never had any trouble with charging my U3 via USB by the method of "Safely Removing Hardware" in Windows XP. But here's the thing, I recently I bought a completely new computer with new hardware and I'm running Windows 7 64-bit now. For some reason my U3 doesn't want to disconnect anymore.

When I connect it to the computer it behaves all normal, let's me see the folders on the U3 and everything. But as soon as I eject it, the U3 remains stuck at displaying the "USB screen" instead of switching to the "Charging screen" which it used to do fine with my old computer. Keep in mind nothing's changed about my U3 meanwhile.

The curious thing is, as soon as I shut down my computer it starts charging. This is because my new motherboard supports USB charging while the computer is off. For now I can manage to charge my U3 while my computer is off, but I'd like to have the option to charge it with my PC on as well. Anybody here know a solution?

Factsheet
- My new motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 with both USB2.0 and 3.0 ports, I have tried both - same result.
- USB cable to the U3 is connected directly to the motherboard, not through any hubs or case ports.
- I'm running Windows 7 64-bit
- U3 has Firmware 1.29
- U3 will charge when I shut down my computer, not inside Windows
