Hey guys,
I'm purchasing a 30gb X5L soon and have heard that the earphones included arn't the greatest, and i've been searching around the forums for some recommendations for a resonable set of headphones for when i get my X5, but they haven't been much help. Anyone have any recommendations Thanks ![]()

The best you can get are supposedly the shures although eloctrolyte (sp?) are up there. Be aware that both of these brands are very expensive.
I have the Sony MDR EX71LS which are a pretty decent pair of in ear phones. I'd recomensd them on a mid budget. Besides that senheiser have some good ones, some M500's or something seem to pop up alot, I dont know a great deal on them. It depends, did you want normal bufs, in ears, isolating, muffs (large headphones) ect. Drpends what your ready to pay also. |

I use Koss PortaPro with my M3L and I am happy with that. I'm planing to purchase Shure E4 earphones in the future, but they are quite expensive. Maybe this link can help you.
Wish you good luck.

I plan on using it while i ride around streets and offroad and also skateboarding so i dont want ot block out sound completely.
I haven't ever owned a proper pair of phones other than the cheapo ones you get with DAPs, so i probably wouldn't notice the difference between a $99 pair and a $499 pair. Are the Sony MDR EX71LS comfortable and how much sound do they block out

they block out quite alot with a propper seal, I walked past the tv just then and couldnt hear a thing. My advice is to stay right away from in ear phones if you will be bike riding ect, by nature they are designed to block out as much noise as possible. The yare pretty comfortable, just getting used to them.
Maybe try some senheiser ones or something. I think if you look at the standard buds you have quite a range to choose from. I'm no expert here but. |

i bought the sony ex51's (same as 71's except they come withotu case and stuff) and i didnt like them...comfortable yes, but the sound wasnt good other than the bass...it didnt have good mids or highs...i bought them form best buy and returned them 10 minutes after..you should do the same, buy them and see if u liek them then return them.
i also bought a pair of mx550's...those werent good..i now have a pair of mx500's from amazon.com and im happy with them..not much better than the cresyn but enough i guess its just trial and error til you get something you like...i was the same was as you were, i had just used the phones that came with the player |

I have the Sony EX71... i'd say they work great for a mid-budget... at first it didn't sound very well but after break in and a little getting used to, its a lot better.

If you don't like the earbud style (like me) and don't mind "open" style earphones (they aren't noise cancelling and "leak" sound), I recommend the Sennhesier PX100's. They're compact and come with their own hard carrying case they can fold into. They're very comfortable and you hardly notice them on your head. Also, great sound, great bass, good mids and highs. They run around $45 or so. Read reviews on amazon.com

I am looking for headphones too. Has anyone got Philips HS500? I would love to have Sennheiser PX100 but my budget is limited (below $20). Any other suggestions?

I have the Sennheiser 400 MX and I like them. Only cost me 12 Euro's although I now would change them for the MX500 because those have a volume control (other than that the specs are the same) which cost 19 Euro's.

I want earbuds taht will last for awhile yet satay under $25. I was eyeing the MX500s but the reviews said they dont fit too good in your ears. and the Sony EX71 are supposed to be poorly made.
