Default S9 Firmware X.50 bug REPORT thread

Think people have had enough time with the latest firmware to have gotten to grips with thing...anyway.

As before the purpose of this thread is list out various bugs you may have found in the S9's latest firmware update, so that we may then forward on this thread to the good folks at Cowon Korea.
Please make sure to follow the below guidelines before posting a "bug".

This is the format to use to report bugs: (answers are for example purposes)

Quote:
Problem: Write down what the problem is (example ID3 Tag issue)

Expanded Description: Give a more detailed description of the bug you're reporting

Capacity & Model: Note the capacity of your S9, eg. 32gb - If you own the DMB model please note as such, eg. 32gb DMB

Firmware: Note the firmware you've loaded eg. 1.50, 2.50, 3.50 or 4.50

Things to remember:
Have you tried reinstalling the firmware? (sometimes this solves abnormal behaviour)
Are you using a custom UCI? as it may be the cause of your issue.

Ohhh Cowon you naughty boy, I almost forgot my usual post !

Problem: Can't go to next/previous album in Album/Artist Sorting
Description: If you are in ALBUM or ARTIST sorting, you can't go to the next or previous albums you selected, it's a bug everyone knows about. Let say you are playing an album and get to the last song, well no matter what setting you have (ALL, LOOP, etc.), it will loop right back over again in the same album- you can't go to the next or previous album unless you MANUALLY pick it from the Library browser. This bug though, does NOT exist in FOLDER Sorting, which is what I have mine setup as.
Firmware: 2.50
Capacity: 16GB

Problem: New Matrix Coverflow FORCES Album Sorting
Description: ALBUM sorting is so FORCED with Coverflow that despite you let's say used FOLDER Sorting before you turned off the device, if you have coverflow still on, when you turn back on the device it will be in ALBUM Sorting (no matter what you do before). Try it for yourself and you'll see what I mean. So I would like an option to sort it anyway you want so we do not run into this FORCED ALBUM sorting. Maybe look for album covers 1 to 2 folders deep and then go 1-2-3 folders deep for songs, seems easy...
Firmware: 2.50
Capacity: 16GB

Problem: Random loading default music UCI
Expanded Description: Use Asurada UCI v4.1 (music, movie), Text Viewer by Naver (Klaus edition),Cube browser total v1.35.
Steps to reproduce:
1. press Music button - Asurada UCI loaded
2. press Home button, press Documents and open some file, press Main
3. again press Music - now default UCI loaded
It will do this way again until you open Movie viewer and go back to Music. I don't know if it is an UCI bug or firmware.

not a bug with Firmware... this "bug" you are reporting ONLY happens with using Asurada's music UI for some reason, it has NOTHING to do with Cowon's Firmware. If you use any other music UI they do not revert to the default music UI, Asurada's Music UI for some odd reason does this. In other words... Bug with Asurada's Music UI not Firmware related...

Sorry Dominic... just wanted to point this out...

I think that most likely you're right, but i wouldn't be absolutely sure. I'm not so good at UCI development, but can't it be an error of some component that LOAD the UCI. UCI is a swf file. For example if player can open mp3 file and sometimes it can't - it does not mean that this mp3 file is corrupted. Sorry for bad english.

This can be a bug in the music UCI, because the music UCI calls the function to load the mainmenu.
This function has an argument which tells the function which screen to load, so if the music UCI sets a wrong argument an incorrected screen is loaded or even none as in your case.

I think that's because you use an equalizer preset. Isn't it ?

I just realised that when I boot up my s9, if I go straight into radio, the volume is there. However, if I go into music/video then change out to radio, the volume of radio decreases significantly.

Any idea on that?

Dunno. The volume level is correct when the equalizer is set to "Normal" an empty user preset.

That is really strange.

You may convert your srt to smi and it will work fine again until this issue has been solved.
