Hi, I have multiple folders and subfolders in my "music" folder and after I upgraded to firmware 1.20e, only one of my folders works. When I try to play other folders, it says "No File". I suspect its a problem to do with the changes made with the number of files and folders in the 1.20 firmware. Is anyone else having these problems? (Only the folder with the most files/subfolders works) Or is there anywhere I can download 1.15?

Aren't you supposed to format your player when you do a firmware upgrade?

the transition from 1.15 to 1.20 auto-reformats it...

Yes which means everything gets deleted except the factory default folders ie System, Music, Records folders and subfolders.

Here's the deal:
- Upgraded to 1.20 - failed the first time. (Used recovery mode) - Upgraded again, no issues this time. - Started up the device with no problems. - Copied over a song using Windows Explorer and played without a problem. - Copied all my music folders and songs - no go, just kept displaying "NO FILE" - Tried transferring everything using JetShell - no luck. - When I moved just files. no subfolders, everything worked fine. - Tried moving subfolders (only music, no system) back to the "NO FILE" issue. So, trying to get ahold of tech support with no luck also, so any help you guys can provide would be appreciated. J |

You probably have too many subfolders. You are only allowed 53 (including the 6 that the device sets up itself - 3 at the root level, 3 under 'records' (which is a really stupid name for recordings, by the way).
Open the device with windows explorer, highlight the 3 top level folders, right click, properties, will tell you how many of what you have. I bet the answer is 'too many'.

Interesting. 194 Folders is slightly over the limit (obvious sarcasm). I will give that a shot. So, is this a new thing with 1.20? Everything worked with the earlier versions.

Used to be you had a limit of '480 somethings', which could be files or folders. You now have 650 files and 53 folders (and some number which i've forgotten, but it might be 120, of files which can be in the dynamic playlist).
I can't see how 194 folders (with presumably 10+ files in each?) was ever going to work with any version of the firmware.

What I had was a folder for each artist\band. So most folders had only one or two songs each. But this does explain why I heard a lot of the same songs over and over again! Thanks for the help, everything is chugging along nicely now.
