G3 menu navigation: firmware 1.30 slower than 1.25?

Hi, I just upgraded G3 from v1.25e to v1.30e, apart from the claimed increase in total file# supported, which i never made full use of, I do notice however, the menu navigation is a lot slower than 1.25.

The situation is even worse off during playback of high bitrate songs (320Kbps). In comparison, firmware 1.25 menu navigation is a lot more responsive - no noticible delay after any button pressed.

in lower bitrate playback however, 1.30 does a little better, still not as smooth as 1.25 though.

this does not affect listening experience but is really annoying.. since most of my files are lame vbr extreme.

I now have to roll back to v1.25, seems nothing to lose.

can anyone confirm this?

my guess would be whoever wrote G3 firmware used fix length tables and as a result larger tables take longer to process.
