"Why are you listening to your camera?"

In today's world where iPod has become the next genericized term a la Band-Aid and Kleenex, it's difficult for the masses to believe any DAPs other than iPods exist anymore.

I once received this remark from an acquaintance while listening to my D2. I was quite amused; the D2 really does look like a camera. It made me think about the kind of reaction people get when they see my D2.

off-topic: When I left home today to go to the university to study, the battery-display was already down to zero. that was at 11.30. at around 1.30 i stopped listening for about an hour, because the battery-display was flashing. then i started listening again till i got home at 5. it's 6 o'clock now, and it's still not dead!

Way too many people think iPod is THE music player nowadays. I don't really find it annoying, but I figure that more people should know about other stuff. I mean, half the people in my school haven't even heard of a Zune before. Wtf?

Hmmm these comments sound familiar , perhaps these are standard (global) reactions of the brainwashed iPod generation.

Usually they pull out their iPods and want to compare the exterior (and are talking about how they like the sound quality of them, while using the stock buds with them).

And people who think it's my phone (for some weird reason), and they mistake my phone for a camera (but that's less weird because it's a LG camera phone)

Hi all, I'm new here...

I bought a Cowon S9 the past week from NewEgg and I just love it! I had 2 Cowons before, the X5 and iAudio 7 8gb, I loved them.

Some of my coworkers only know about iPods and popular brands... I started to talk them about Cowon models and at least one of them is very interested in the Cowon S9.

I had some iPods before, but in general they are crap when compared to a Cowon, you are getting more, better SQ for less.

Yes, I also got some comments about iPods and why is that and why don't, you get the idea. Sometimes, it is really disturbing but normal I guess.

ALMOST all DAPs here are iPods (like 99%)

Have seen a Sony once and a Sansa E200 (from a friend).

Someone once asked me, "is that a ZUNE?" That cracked me up.
Also: "That thing is an itouch wannabe." ...except that the D2 came out before the ipod touch...
And after I explain some of its features, I often get, "What's OGG? What's FLAC?"
