Default For expert only, perhaps Drivers for Telechips 7901

I had read that the S9 have a Telechips TCC7901 (TCC79XX).
Lot of users can have a driver's recognition problem after a "No font no resources" and windows (or others OS) had unknown drivers from telechips.
I found this archive on Telechips's website, I'm not technician but perhaps it contains USB drivers.
If someone will be courageous to see files and try on a bricked S9 it would be nice for others users.
Thanks a lot.

Be careful with this archive perhaps is not the good driver.

Thanks Kroma,

Im looking at what you can do with the drivers, seems they work for plugging in your S9 in recovery mode at the moment, we'll see how it goes (even though my s9 is fine)

Thanks for trying and good luck. ^^
In fact it will be nice to unbrick a S9 with the combo Panasonic SD formatter/New FW and Telechips's drivers without using Cowon's customer service.

Well, I got the drivers installed but none of the programs run on XP, they seem to use windows CE to program? >.< Im going to see if I can get them to run at all, would be an easier way to unbrick ofc

did you need a login for telechips website to find that? I cant find any register button, but thats probably because you have to have something to do with cowon / a company that uses the chip to log in?

I found direct links to Telechips on this page.
No need a login to download files.

Those files appear to be the ones that surfaced for the D2 last year. They were listed at Rockbox...

You probably could get one of the FWDN programs to work if you knew what the NAND Memory Addresses were and the size.

You would also have to rewrite one of the INF files to load the parameters for the S9 if the driver would work.

Here is the Hardware ID for the S9:

USB\Vid_0e21&Pid_0900&Rev_0100
USB\Vid_0e21&Pid_0900

The Registry Keys are:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\U SBSTOR\Disk&Ven_COWON&Prod_S9&Rev_1.00\0600001E556 003D408322710313403D4&0 (FriendlyName=COWON S9 USB Device)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\U SB\Vid_0e21&Pid_0900\0600001E556003D40832271031340 3D4 (LocationInformation=COWON S9 2.30)

The rest of the information you need is in the above registry keys.

Have fun...I spent a lot of time looking at those files...There are some cool programs in some of the files.

the Developer of Tcctool needs the SDCFG Value in order to successfully have the S9 work with Tcctool. without those values Tcctool is of no help. sadly, i have stopped trying to ask for help cause there is no way to get those Values. the only way is by having access to the Telechip Modal TCC7901 Datasheet which is impossible it seems. there are other ways to get the Values but i just don't know how
