Default Is it possible to connect my S9 with a Parrot CK3100 via bluetooth?

I know that S9's bluetooth function is specially designed to pair the player with bluetooth headsets but I was wondering that since Parrot device processes the audio signal from cellphones to transmit to the car's audio system it could be possible that it also transmits audio from the S9. I already tried to pair my S9 with the Parrot and it does identify it, though it puts a red cross next to the Parrot's icon in the bluetooth screen. I tried to connect the devices but nothing happens.

Is it a problem of the S9, the Parrot or the bluetooth itself? Can it be solved?

It would be really nice to listen to my S9 music through car's loudspeakers via bluetooth.

I appreciate any help or clarification regarding this doubt.

Thanks a lot.

The Parrot is designed to work with cell phones. Your S9 isn't a cell phone. The Parrot is probably hooked to your car's stereo through an AUX input. That AUX input is your S9's path to your Stereo. It's all about bluetooth protocals. The S9 ONLY does A2DP. Cell phones use HFP and a few more. You'll need a simple A2DP stereo adapter to get your S9's audio over bluetooth to your car. It would also use the AUX input.

Uhm...thanks a lot. I didn't know that protocol issue. Since I already had a bluetooth system I thought I could use it for my S9 too instead of buying something else, like the A2DP adapter you comment...Now I guess I should get one of those, would you recommend any?

And...another question, if you don't mind: Is bluetooth protocol related just with software or is it related with hardware too? (maybe a new firmware would help)

Thanks.

I don't know enough about the bluetooth chips used in the S9 or your parrot to know if they can be upgraded. I have a Samsung P2 that DID get better bluetooth features with a firmware update though. So anything is possible.

A quick Google search for "A2DP bluetooth car adapter" found THIS. I've got a couple bluetooth receivers but they aren't for cars.

Default Other Parrot car-kits do the job

Other Parrot car kits like the Parrot MK6000 or the MKi series support A2DP. You'll be able to stream high quality stereo from the S9 to you car stereo.
