Well, gapless didn't work for me, but perhaps I chose the wrong album?

Has the issue which causes microgaps to occasionally appear during FLAC playback been resolved? I have not had a chance to test the new beta out yet. Thanks, Milan

fw 2.31b created a terrible touch screen for me too, so i rolled back to 2.3 non beta
now fw 2.32b installed and touch screen is perfect, should be ok to try it

This is a great update!
I can confirm it too!
I've been loving The Hazards Of Love from The Decemberists!
But now its a way better experience!
I highly recommend this album to all!!

Both this and De-Loused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta are perfectly gapless now.
Also most of the well done live albums I have.
Cowon ROCKS!

gapless works great for mp3s encoded with the LAME encoder - but it doesn't seem to work for other encoders, there's still a (very very tiny) gap

Confused Single file = gapless?

It just occured to me that if you rip a CD using Jet Audio, there's an option that allows you to "Rip continuous selected tracks as a single file." Essentially, wouldn't this be the same as gapless playback?

But, say you wanted a particular song in the middle of the album, it would be a pita to skip within the track to find the song.

You may need to re-rip/re-encode/reconvert your songs to the newest LAME MP3 encoder. I use dbPoweramp for all my conversions, they are always updated to the newest LAME MP3.

I've been on the fence about whether or not I should buy the s9 THIS SECOND, but once I thought about all the concert cds and dvds I've ripped and regularly listen to, I've decided to go for it. Not to mention I'll finally get to enjoy my favorite album of all time in gapless for the very first time*.

*The Seiken Densetsu Sound Collection is a musical journey best traveled gapless, which is something I could never do with an ipod mini nor a d2. I might have been able to do it with my Trekstor Vibez, but that died so quickly I never got the chance.
Thanks Cowon, you're the best! *Runs to amazon to buy that s9*

Funny thing is we all started bitching about gapless on the D2, and never expected to have it come to fruition w/the S9. This is just fantastic,....truly the S9 is THE player to have!!!

I'm not denying that its slightly unfair older players don't get updated with the features though, when people have wanted it on the D2+ for example, for a while, and they only decide to do it when a new player comes out.
It is ignoring customers, hoping they'll upgrade to the latest model.

Upgrading and spending money developing older players = sure way to go out of business and fast...but, cowon did release that d2+ so unless they're going to discontinue it I'd be hoping they add gapless to that too.
