Default S9 Firmware 2.31 Beta2

Here's the firmware update a lot of people been waiting for.
Note that it's 2nd Beta firmware.

- Support gapless playback in MP3 files.

- Improved DivX3 playback performance and hours of continuous playback.

- Fixed the error that audio synchronization was not working properly when some AVI 2.0 files are
searched in 0 second.

- Fixed the error that some files display frame rate incorrectly.

- Fixed the error that audio plays faster than video in some video files.

- Fixed date created of DMB, DAB, and recording files.

Gapless playback in MP3 files.
1. MP3 Gapless playback is the uninterrupted playback of consecutive audio tracks without intervening
silence sections in front and end of files that are created while compressing mp3 files.

2. COWON S9 supports gapless playback in MP3 files that are converted by LAME MP3 encoder such as
type of plugins.

3. Gapless playback won't be supported, if original audio file contains silence part in front and end before
converting MP3 files.

Not sure if it counts as a verification, but it's gapless for:

Artist - Paul Van Dyk
Album - In Between
Track Transition - 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4
Bit Rate - 320kbps

No audible gaps!

I have normal MP3s only, and they start one by one without gap. But the MP3s are "normal" ones, so I can't be 100% sure.

Now my only reason for not getting the S9 is my lack of funds! even if I sell off my touch I still won't have enough money...this sucks...damn recession!

I have to say I'm VERY impressed with Cowon relative to the S9. This is the 12th update since 2.05 came out which I have dated to december last year. Even though several have been betas, each has brought something significant to the S9. Today my S9 is a far better device than it was last year! We knew gapless MP3 playback was inevitable once the 2.31b version had gapless for lossless formats. I can only imagine what else they are working on as a final "gift" to us in the 2.31 final version.

Cowon does it again, can't wait to update my player. I'm very impressed at Cowon, they seem to have taken user's suggestion in making the device better, and can't wait to see what they have in store for us for future updates. Keep up the good work Cowon

Wow! I think I see some light shining on the dark side! BTW, I've got that album. Now I'm going to have to dig it out and have another listen.
