Using Itunes to put files into X5 (my apologies)

I apologize as I know its annoying when newbs post questions that have already been asked and addressed.. I used the search function but could not find the exact answer i was looking for. I have all my cds already organized on Itunes. What is the most easy way to use itunes to make playlists and get my songs onto my X5. ( i read the example with winamp but I would like to know if I can do it without using winamp). Thanks for the help and once again sorry I couldent figure it out myself ( this is my first mp3 player and my computer knowledge is limited).

I plan to use iTunes with my X5 when I get it. Hopefully I can set up the music folder to be an external drive (Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Music folder location), and so all my music will be hosted on the X5 but still accessible through iTunes.
