Default S9 Firmware 2.31b

Lol, I got so many free time since I'm being quarantined (eh, people suspecting me to have H1N1). Stumbled on Cowonglobal and so happy that 2.31b is out!.

2.31beta
: You can always go to Cowonglobal.com and download it (as I always do that). Alternatively, you can download from this link, too : http://sharebee.com/d8bd44b2

Change log
:

- Added the typist feature that is a notepad with a keyboard.
(p/s: max. 200 characters... lol, why so little?)

- Improved receiving quality, compatibility, and performance of Bluetooth.

- Support gapless playback in lossless music files (WAV, FLAC, APE, and LOSSLESS WMA) and OGG files.

- Support M3U.

- Support AVI files that are damaged.

- Fixed the error that frame color wasn’t changed in document mode.

- Fixed some minus operation error in calculator.

- Support Thai.

Support M3U :

- Functionality that recognizes M3U files that are created in PC.

- M3U folder will be created in 'playlist' from the top menu of browser when you copy .m3u files in
COWON S9.

- COWON S9 recognizes up to 400 M3U files.

- COWON S9 recognizes up to 400 lists in M3U.

- ONLY support extended M3U.

Roughly the same thing with 1.31b and 3.31b, only that the Korean characters won't show up in Typist and the Dictionary will disappear, too (Yeah yeah, same old stuff, as we all know).

And lol, I bolded the parts I think that are important.

Happy using it.

#Edit : Btw, for any of us wanna know more about the new Typist (and some other functions), make sure you guys visit this : http://www.cowonglobal.com/download/..._s9_guide.html

#Edit 2 : Toying around with Typist for awhile and just realized that you can point your finger to the place you want your cursor to be at. Nice.

Installing this firmware deletes favorites/bookmarks. Just an Fyi.

Thx for the info, Sixteh ^^

As Cowon stated, and as like many of us have adviced, we should always back them up before installing new fw updates. It should takes only a couple of minutes.

Claw's UCI --> Playlist Manager--> New Playlist --> Fill from Fave
I don't know how to backup bookmarks though.

Lol, the update deleted my favorites... Except for 1 track! What the hell?!

EDIT: The font update is quite nice. It's more readable now.

# XXL-Music : Just backup the whole System folder. XD...

#Martyn7 : Make sure that you put S9's default UCI as mainmenu1 or mainmenu2, cuz other UCIs haven't support icon for this new feature yet.

yeahe booiii, installed, it was a quick upgrade!

@Berserker - If you're using Claw UI (update to 3.29 patch), then click on the typist icon..

Nah, I wasn't surprised that it deleted my favorites, I was surprised that it left 1 track untouched.

Indeed, I needed the update (it's raining updates by the way...)
Thank you

Quick question before I update FW. I put the files in the root directory, and I noticed two other .bin files there not sure if they are supposed to be there and if they are from Cowon?
DID.bin and nonce.bin. I am concern that they might effect my FW update. Anyone have an idea what these files are and can I just delete them?

You've apparently activated "show hidden files" in Windows. Those two files are always there. No worries, they won't affect the upgrade.
