Default How to turn on the D2 "blind" when in pocket

Hi,

I am sure I at least once read in this forum that the question about turning on the D2 without having to touch the screen was answered with a clear "NO, you can't". Today I have accidentally found out the following. (My D2 has FW 3.57)

If your D2's top buttons are configured in a way that the M button starts and stops a song that is playing, the following should work:

1. Switch on your D 2
2. Wait until the main menu screen has been loaded
3. Push the M button once
4. Wait until the play screen appears
5. Lock your D2 with the on/off button
6. Press the M button once
7. The last song played will continue playing

You can do this with your D2 in your pocket, provided you have a feeling for the boot up time of your D2.

Has this been already discussed here? If so, I apologise for repeating ancient knowledge.

Hi,
i put my D2 in a Altoids tin and always use that strategie to start it in pocket.
But it is nice of you, to write it down here. Maybe it helps somebody : D

The only problem are flashskins with multiple designs to chose. Cassini worked out a nice one (OLED III Premium Suite) which i can't use this way. But the Carbonite flashskin works perfect : D. And it looks great with Titantheme.

greetings

Err I just grope for the slider switch and slide it on then I know where to tap on the screen with my thumb and usually after a few tries get it to play without taking it out of my pocket (having a large enough pocket = big plus).
