Default Where to hide files from database scanner?

I want to add some music to my sd card for transfering. Is there a way to add them to the card without the databaser scanning them into its database or them being even detected? i.e. hidden folder or maybe in the SYSTEM folder, etc?

Anyone?

Put them in the SYSTEM folder. It works.

Hmmm...so theoretically if we put the files in SYSTEM folder we could brake the 4/5k file limit. We would just have to browse in folder mode (it wouldn't work in tag mode since the database would not have been updated and of course we would still have the 4/5k file limit).

I wonder if anyone already tried this (maybe someone already did and I just missed it ).

I want to transfer some tunes with questionable tags. Better to be safe than sorry than to risk a database meltdown, though I haven't had one since upping to 3.59.

Yeah, I tried... The database is used even when in folder mode, so no SYSTEM folder there too. What can be done though, is writing a flash application/theme which can play files in that folder through some internal playlist... I'm almost sure that the ones that require .bat files to generate such playlists would support that behaviour quite transparent... Actually no, come to think of it, the flash themes use ext_fscommand2("play") to manage playing of the files, which transfer the control to the D2's firmware. It is worth a try, although not very problable... To implement such a feature through a skin it should be done with flash only, through the Sound object - I somehow doubt that it would be working though.

The most simple solution is to use rockbox of course

You can't view files that are stored in the SYSTEM folder with the Cowon firmware. So you wouldn't be able to play those files that you put there. But you can with Rockbox.
