Default Strange Problem when using TV Out lead

I can watch video from the S9 on my TV a-ok but when visiting my brother yesterday I plugged the S9 into his TV and the S9 just locked up (froze) the screen was still on but all you could do was turn it off or reset it, after which you could turn it back on but whenever a rca was connected to a composite in connection on his TV the S9 would freeze. He has DVD etc plugged into the TV via the same rca connections so they seem fine, the S9 TV-Out lead is fine, just checked it on my 2 TVs, also tried changing the PAL/NTSC settings before connecting but made no diff.
So anyone have any ideas on why his TV (a Sony Triniton) woulds cause the S9 to behave this way when they are connected?

It happens to me a lot. It seems that if you let it go to sleep while connected to a tv or even hit the wrong button it can lock up. So I try not to do a lot while its hooked up. But I have had it lock up dozens of time while in tv out, but once its playing a video i never have a problem.

I don't have any lock up problems on the two tv's I have, it works fine with those. S9 screen goes blank when displaying on TV & you use the volume/ff buttons for video control, beats using a mem stick to transfer downloaded video from my pc to my tv. With my brothers it would lock up totally, it doesn't come and go like you describe...
