Yes O2 Theme Image Extractor

Hello,,,

Look what Pegahic got for us hard working raw hacking people.

O2 Theme Image Extractor
http://pegahic.netii.net/

GdkPixbuf extractor and patcher, for modifying images in the O2 player binary. The program can extract all images in the player binary as PNGs and also add any modified images back.

Lets gets the Themes rolling

This has just influenced my decision on whether to get an o2 or s9.
Thank you to all of you people who probably had to go to school to learn how to do this (I still have to get into/through high school)

Question:
If I understand this correctly I will be able to open up (if I had an o2) the different images that are a part of the o2 interface will be opened up in gimp, and they can then be editited to replace the original images. Is this right?
again,
Thanks!!!

Lemme take a look and apply my limited skills to making a theme or two. Anyone with me?

Awesome! That makes it all a lot easier! No more Gimp, only Photoshop, thank god.

In no way can this be compared to the theming capabilities of the S9. The S9 is fully "open", you can do almost anything you can imagine in Flash (just look at Claw's or Nova's S9 themes). With the O2 you can only replace images in a rather limited manner, you can't for example change font colors or rearrange the whole layout.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I can now make my O2 look more the way I want it, but that really shouldn't be a deciding factor in what player you get - I would put a lot more weight in features you want/need...

The batch file didn't work for me for importing the images again. However, it did work normally via CLI (gdkpex -w o2_player).

Yeah, I know the s9 is an open book. I've just always had a thing for the o2. In a perfect world I'd have both, but I'll probably end up going with the s9 as the perfect combination of screen size and customization.

This seems very similar to the way the D2 was themed. As cowon releases firmwares (that's a word, right?) the interface on the o2 will continue to get better, and be able to be themed. I still don't know what to get.

Anyway sorry for the off-topicness (again, probably not a word) I'll probably post a thread about it later.

Anywho,
This is awesome work,
Huge thanks,
Djini

Weird. Try the version I just uploaded (that's the only change). If not, could you please describe the symptoms (including Windows version etc.)? - you can also add "pause" at the end of the .BAT to see the output.

Seems the folder-up [..] confused the old batch, the new one works perfectly fine.

Many thanks for that excellent app, Pegahic - highly appreciated! No more hex editing and raw file importing - heaven!

The battery is image-00149.png and battery cell is image-00150.png.
Many pictures are more difficult to identify.

Could you take your PNG graphic with the modified fonts and post it here? I was wondering how to make them just like you did - a transparent background for the icon text so it is readable in any black or white background.
I am not a very good artist.

I believe the image is image-00041.png that is extracted from the file. Did you

Does it make a difference which OS we're using for this PNG? I am using 1.27 like DFTK is.

I don't think he did anything to the battery indicator other than possibly the color...?

What is different about it, Ludd?
