I would like to know the steps to do things right the first time.
Is this right? Please correct me if i am wrong or add anything else. STEPS: 1. Charge D2+ for 7 hours via USB port 2. Update latest firmware...which firmware is best for music only? 3. Install JetAudio & JetShell 4. Convert CDs to FLAC format using Jetshell 5. Transfer FLAC files to D2+ 6. TEST...check each song END

You don't need to charge it for 7 hours, infact it should be pretty much good to go straight away.
If you insist on using FLAC then you might as well rip it properly, using EAC (i'm looking for a guide for you) Personally I only use flac on my comp, anything portable is either mp3, aac, or ogg vorbis. EDIT: EAC guides - http://www.teqnilogik.com/tutorials/eac.shtml , http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index....e=EAC_and_FLAC , http://rip59.dk/EACFlac/EACFlacRipping.html

your d2 plus will probably come with FW 2.01 or 2.02. If you want flash skin suport, update to 3.02. Otherwise you don't really need to mess with the FW. If you do decide to go to 3.02, you do not need to use tcctool or use the rockbox/dualboot method to get it on there. You can simply drag the files on one by one, unpluging your D2+ and restarting the player after putting on eath file.

I'm just using it to play music all encoded in FLAC. #1 reason above everything else.
And add a pic as background. Nothing else at all. Just music & adding 1 pic as my background. The way i take care of my stuff & the 52 hour rated for audio this thing should last me for years. Seriously! Of course, unless something unforseen happens which i doubt will. Examples: it gets stolen, product malfunction, accidents etc...

So the firmware it comes with should be good enough to play music right?
No need to upgrade firmware?
