Yes Wallpaper UI v3 -- [x.10 FW]

Version 3 - for x.10 firmware and later!

Major features:

1. Wallpaper Timeline
The timeline function allows setting wallpapers for individual screens to be active at only certain times of day, allowing for example day/night wallpaper rotation.
You can set the wallpaper's timeline to be anywhere in the following hours: 00:00 / 12am, 04:00 / 4am, 08:00 / 8am, 12:00 / 12pm, 16:00 / 4pm, 20:00 / 8pm

Instructions:
  1. Make sure that Wallpaper Mode is set to 'Per Screen'
  2. Activate Wallpaper Timeline (Settings -> System -> Wallpaper Timeline)
  3. Go to Picture browser and press Wallpaper icon.
  4. You will see a normal list of screens. The list will no longer be centered.
  5. Select a screen (single tap).
  6. Timeline will be displayed, with <All> auto-selected. ALL means that the wallpaper will be active at all times. The hours will display based on 12/24 hour setting.
  7. Select one or more items (press once to select, once more to de-select). You may set the wallpaper to be active at multiple times in the day.
  8. Press screen's name again (already highlighted in yellow) and the timeline setting will be saved. If the time has come, it will also load appropriate wallpaper (you will notice a slight delay at that time). If the wallpaper is outside current timeframe, it will be saved anyway. Note that (x) now just cancels out of the setup - to save any settings you have to tap on the highlighted screen name twice - once to select and once more to save.
  9. Repeat for other screens, timeframes, etc.
What you should see:
  • On startup, each screen's active timeline is loaded. Note that if you set a wallpaper to start at 8 in the morning, at 7:58 it will not yet load.
  • Every 30 seconds the system checks if wallpaper is to be switched, and will flip wallpapers if necessary. Currently there is no transition. One goes away - background goes blank - new one comes in. Transitions may be added later (I am concerned for memory usage here).
  • You can toggle the Timeline setting on and off. If you turn it off, the original wallpapers should immediately reload. If you turn it back on, time-based wallpapers should load.
2. Artist / Album Hotlinks
  • Two buttons appear in music screen. One to the left of Play Info area, and one to the right.
  • Play Info area is squished a little to fit between these buttons.
  • QuickList tab moved higher to free up space for hotlinks.
  • Pressing left hotlink (Artist) will build a new playlist based on currently-playing artist, go to 1st track, and start playing it.
  • Pressing right hotlink (Album) will build a new playlist for currently playing album, and will start playing 1st track.
  • Shuffle settings are still used if active(will be adding an option to turn off Shuffle if hotlink is used).
  • I don't like the look of these tabs, but used whatever was already in the library. If any designer is willing to contribute two nicer buttons, I may incorporate them instead.
  • Originally I linked actual artist / album line in Playlist - but its harder to use - and for me personally I want to be able to do more things qucker ...

Discussions on UI Pack v2 here: http://www.iaudiophile.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=26153 and here: http://www.iaudiophile.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=25783
I will summarize all features added since UI Pack 2:
  1. Wallpaper Timeline (Settings -> System -> Wallpaper Timeline) - see above for functionality.
  2. Some minor performance improvements in the Launcher - should yield theoretical improvement in overall UI smoothness (though its mostly theoretical - I'd be curious if anyone actually observes improvements).
  3. Changed max Wallpaper Fade Rate limit in User Settings to 15.
  4. Changed max Album Art slider rate limit from 10 to 30.
  5. Empty area touch function setting added to Main menus (Settings -> MenuN -> Empty Area Touch). If activated, touching empty area (where there are no icons or overlays) in main menus will roll back the overlays (like it does in Picture Viewer). When this function is enabled, icon drag area is expanded, so icons can be placed where overlays are located.
  6. Start main menu with the overlays hidden (Settings -> MenuN -> Hide Overlay on Start).
  7. Allow change of the Picture Viewer slide-show time. Default is changing image every 4 seconds, but can be changed to another interval (Settings -> Picture Viewer -> Slide Show Delay (s) )
  8. Fixed an annoying bug in original firmware where 12am was displayed as 00am ...
  9. User Settings screen now has a dependency check - settings will be grayed out if related settings are disabled. For example, Grid Units are disabled if Snap to Grid is turned off. As an unfortunate consequence, sliding of Settings panels is not as smooth (due to font embedding) ... I may tweak it at another time. Related settings themselves are not lost if controlling setting is turned off.
  10. Fixed a bug where setting wallpaper did not work when non-English language was activated.
For those using v3 beta, you should see following fixes:
  • No more freezing on shutdown.
  • When time comes for wallpaper to change - the wallpaper will go black for a second, then new wallpaper will load.
  • Timeline UI has nicer toggle buttons.

Update - v3.05
  • Artist / Album Hotlinks (Settings -> Music -> Artist/Album Hotlinks).
  • Overlay Transparency setting in Music (Settings -> Music -> Overlay Transparency). Setting it to 100 will preserve default transparency of header and footer. Setting it lower will blend the overlays with the background - I set it to 50 myself.
  • Disable FF/RW on Pause (Settings -> Music -> Disable FF/RW on Pause). When set, fast forward/next track, rewind/prev track hard buttons are ignored when player is paused. This was added per request.
Update - v3.06

This is a small update - primarily adding features that a few people requested. There will be no more updates until 1st phase of the Playlist manager is published ... which will be a full release v3.1

Note - Special Options is a little tab at the bottom of each Setting screen ... pressing the tab extends the options.
  1. Clear all Favorites (Settings -> Music -> Special Options -> Clear Favorites). Needless to say please take care ... the playlist functionality I am adding will allow backup of the favorites, but until then you're on your own.
  2. Change Browser scrollbar knob color (Settings -> Browser -> Scroll Button Color). If you want to get the default color back, its 103/145/15).
  3. Disable Shuffle mode when activating a Hotlink (Settings -> Music -> No Shuffle for Hotlinks). If shuffle mode was on when hotlink was activated, shuffle mode is turned off.
  4. Reorganized a few settings locations (to prepare for the Playlist Manager).
  5. Fixed a bug where 'Reset Icons' special option didn't work. It should work now.
Update - Version 3.10b (BETA)
This version introduces dynamic playlist functionality.

Update - Version 3.11b (BETA)

  1. Fixed a bug where Playlists would not activate if language is not set to English.
  2. Added an option to add track to an inactive playlist: When listening to a track, press Favorites button (not the playlist heart). Instead of two options (Favorites / Bookmarks) you get three (Favorites | Playlists | Bookmarks). Pressing Playlists would allow adding track to any playlist without adding it to current favorites. Playlist does not have to be active. If the playlist IS active, it will need to be re-activated for that track to show up there (will be auto-updated in next release).
  3. Fixed a bug where album art did not re-initialize when playlist was activated from the Music screen.
  4. Added a setting to check playlist for duplicates. The setting is in two places. In Global Settings, it could be used as a default for all new playlists. It can be changed as well in the specific playlist's config. If Check Duplicates is on, adding to a playlist takes longer (maybe twice as long), but if you forget if a track is already in the playlist, you don't have to worry about it. A duplicate will still be added to regular Favorites if you use that option, but will not be added to corresponding playlist.
  5. Improved performance in filling playlist from Favorites when Duplicate check is turned off.
  6. New Feature - per request: Added an option to disable Bookmark screen in the Browser (Settings -> Browser -> Disable Bookmarks).
  7. New Feature - per request: Added an option to reverse left/right swipe in the Browser (Settings -> Browser -> Next Folder Swipe).
  8. Replaced User Settings keypad entry with updated keypad that Cowon provided - some people may not like it but it has larger buttons. Note that in order for input value to be accepted, press OK button at the bottom of the keypad. The (x) now just closes it (as it should have).
  9. Added Notepad icon to Menu1 and 2 from the x.20 firmware.
  10. Fixed a bug where adding to a Favorite failed to display the green check mark.
  11. Playlist chooser's transparency that pops up in Music UI can be tuned for readability and your preference (Settings -> Playlist manager -> Global settings -> Chooser Transparency). Setting it to 100 won't make it completely opaque, but it should be much darker. setting it to 0 will essentially display the text options without the background ... up to you ...

Update - Version 3.12
Primarily moving the playlists out of the beta. I have been using them myself for a while - and for the most part they work. I don't have enough information at this point to find any other issues.
  1. Dynamic Playlists out of beta mode (refer to post http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showpo...&postcount=125 ... for instructions).
  2. New icon under Utilities in both Menu 1 and 2 - to call playlist manager directly.
  3. Additional Swipe Up and Swipe Down functions added to the music screen (Video, Playlist Manager, User Settings). This allows calling these three screens directly via swipe shortcut. Playlist Manager and User Settings screens will return to the Music screen on exit. (Settings -> Music -> Swipe Up Function & Swipe Down Function)
  4. Replaced Hotlink tabs with buttons more reflective of Cowon's UI - courtesy of Caleb369.
  5. Hotlink Memory - When you press a hotlink, its button is replaced with a button called 'Last' . Pressing that button will attempt to return you to the previous playlist (random songs, for example). It will also restore the Shuffle mode that was active prior to activation of hotlinks. Hotlink Memory is only a prototype for now, and does not work under all conditions. Also, its a one-shot deal - once you use it, the setting is removed. Also if you leave the screen or turn off the S9, the last playlist data is removed. Sometime later I will add a more persistent version. This function is more complicated than I expected - so bear with me ...
  6. Added an option -Status - to display play status instead of track info in the Music title area. It will say 'Now Playing' if a track is playing, and will be blank if it does not (Settings -> Music -> Title Content).
  7. The release also contains most behind-the-scenes code to get MSC mode playlist function - though the code has been disabled for now.
Patch - v3.13

  1. Fixed a bug where Hourglass wasn't disappearing in the Picture screen when it was turned off in Settings.
  2. Per request (Seurreal) - Added a new option to Double-Tap function in the Picture viewer - to zoom to actual size. You have to enable double-tap function (Settings -> Picture Viewer -> Double-Tap Zoom) first. Then either activate 'Zoom to Native Size' or 'Default Zoom' percentage (you cannot activate both). Make sure you also tune the double-tap delay (Settings -> System -> Double-Tap Delay) - try value of 100 for better responsiveness. When you open an image, double-tap on it to immediately zoom to its actual size. Double-tap again to zoom out.
  3. Per request (Headcased) - added an option to toggle MSC/MTP mode in User Settings (since Korean Firmware disables that option) - Settings -> System -> USB Mode. I cannot test to see if setting it actually works on Korean firmware.
Update - v3.14
  1. Custom Icon Manager (see following post for instructions: http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showpo...&postcount=240)
  2. Ability to hide overlays in Music UI by touching PlayInfo area (where artist/title/album is - under album art (Settings -> Music -> Playinfo Touch Function)
  3. If Touch Function above is set to 'Hide Overlays', you can default to start Music UI with overlays hidden (Settings -> Music -> Hide Overlay on start)
  4. Fixed a bug where flipbar icons were grayed out in the Browser when Bookmarks browser was disabled.
  5. Removed MSC/MTP setting as it did not work with Korean firmware.
  6. Adjusted Hotlink icons a little to get them to match the rest of the screen better.

Patch - v3.14.1

  1. Quick patch to allow dual-mode icon launch (see below) configured via Icon Configuration -> Run Mode.
  2. Fixed a bug where icons would not drop into Utilities if configured to do so.

There are two Run modes:
Launcher
In this mode, the .swf has to reside in System/Flash UI folder, and will be executed by the Launcher (user_settings.swf, Nova's full-screen clock, etc - are accessible this way). It becomes bound to the Stage setting (rotation, size, etc) and becomes part of the UI.

Flash Browser (default)
In this mode, you execute an swf that's normally accessible via Flash Browser. In this mode the file must be located in Flash folder (NOT flash ui). Basically, if you can't see the .swf in the flash browser, it won't work. Play button 'escape mode' works here. If you mistype the filename, nothing happens.

Note that the keyboard seem to be missing the underscore symbol, so rename anything with it.

Update - v3.15 (separate versions for x.20 and x.30 firmware):
  1. MSC Playlists (see http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showpo...&postcount=349 for functionality).
  2. Activated 'Widget' menu in the User Settings.
    1. Widget screen's Wallpaper Blender (Settings -> Widget -> Wallpaper Blender) - full support of setting both the Alpha and Blend values.
    2. Copy of 'Current Track Display' and 'Current Track Color' settings from Menu settings.
  3. Double-tap on an image in the 'Photo' widget on the Widget menu to open it full screen in the Picture Viewer. This does not work at all times for some reason - it depends on the Stage you were in last. Still trying to figure this out.
  4. Ability to move icons between Utilities 'folder' and the main 'Stage'. Just drag/drop an icon either onto the utilities icon, or onto the 'return' icon to move it around.
  5. You can now move 'return' icon around just like any other icon.
  6. When configuring a custom icon, a live preview of the icon image will be displayed. So you know immediately if your image will show. What you see on that screen is exactly what will be displayed on the menus.
  7. Icon images can now be placed next to their respective .swf's (Flash Browser mode - put jpg's and png's into Flash directory, Launcher mode - put them into Flash UI directory). Use live preview to verify.
  8. Increased max icon limit from 10 to 40. This comes with a lame next/prev page navigation - its not animated at this point.
  9. Fixed a bug where custom icons were created ABOVE header/footer of the main menus.
  10. Per request - BookMark on Pause feature (Settings -> Music -> Bookmark on Pause). When activated, putting a track on Pause will automatically create a bookmark in that spot. This works in my Music UI and in my main menus only (not in Widget yet).
  11. A few minor performance improvements behind the scenes for playlists to activate a little faster - you probably won't notice anything unless you have a 200+ playlists.

Full UI pack for x.20 firmware: http://www.shapeofcolor.com/cowon/Cl...pack_v3.15.zip

For x.30b, the ONLY addition is access to the Hunter game. if you want to use the new Music UI, utilize Theme Tracker (i.e. move my music UI to 2_music.swf, and delete music.swf). This way, menu 1 will call cowon's new music ui, and menu 2 will call my version. Note - there is a problem with Recorder in this version (I broke something) so its not included yet (version from x.20 should work fine). If something else is wrong you can switch to x.20 UI ...

Patch - 3.15.1
For anyone that wants to use MSC Playlists, but does not have S9 set to English, install patch below. It should allow playlists to show up in the browser. This patch should work with x.20 and x.30 firmware.

Update - v3.16

New Features:
  1. Music UI merged with x.30 version. It required a full reintegration of functionality so I may have missed something. I am also slightly suspicious that the new coverflow is slower (thoughI did not add any code to it except the item below). Long story - but it I used a different swf extractor which seems to have worked better than SoThink.
  2. Hide Page Number in the coverflow mode (Settings -> Music -> Hide Matrix Page Display). Unfortunately scrolling does not get any faster
  3. Per request: Change color of Play Time (playing or remaining) in the Music UI (Settings -> Music -> Play Time Color).
  4. Change color of Total Time in the Music UI (Settings -> Music -> Total Time Color).
  5. Per Request: Hide white frame around album art (only active if large album art is NOT used - as it always disables the frame) - (Settings -> Music -> Hide Album Frame).
  6. New Icon Run mode - Widget. This mode, unlike Launcher and Flash Browser, will load the .swf on TOP of currently running frame. This allows for flash files to run at the same time as the main UI (allowing music to play, etc). However, be aware that this mode is on top of all UI elements, including any popups (I am working on a way around it, but it may not be possible). Place both icons and .swf's into System/Flash UI/Widgets directory. Press icon to launch the widget. Press icon again to remove it. Switching to another UI closes the widgets. Note that there is no escape function, so if you can't press the icon, or if the widget cannot close on its own, you're stuck - restart and reconfigure the widget) - you can you can also switch to another screen - it will shut the widget down. This is still an experimental feature!
  7. New Icon setting (Configure Icon -> Lock Screen). This is for use with Widget mode only, and if set to YES, will lock out the window underneath until widget is closed - so you don't accidentally press wrong buttons, etc. This is the default mode.
Update - v3.17

Changes:
  1. New icon mode - Main Menu. In this mode, the .swf being launched is treated as a Main Menu, thus it is registered within Cowon's firmware and is subject to Theme Tracker functionality. Of course, the file has to be named mainmenuN.swf, with N being a number from 1 to 9 (for now) for this to work. This way you can have track up to 9 themes (anyone needs more than 9??? )
  2. New icon type - Folders. After adding a new icon, configure it and change its Type to Folder. Folders act just like Utilities icon, and you can drag/drop icons in and out of them.
    1. Since these are dynamic folders, once they are deleted or deactivated, the icons stored in them will move to their original designated location.
    2. For now all folders must reside in the main stage (you cannot have folders inside folders) - for that to be changed I need to do more restructure of icon management code.
    3. This feature is somewhat experimental and maybe buggy and needs more work I think.
    4. Resetting Icon Layout will also reset placement of icons within folders, so all dynamic folders will be emptied and the icons will be moved to their default locations.
    5. For cool folder icons - like game folders, try this link: IconsPedia website.
  3. Duff Man's idea - Wallpaper Timeline Preview - when assiging timelines, when timeline zones show up and you wait a few seconds, a tiny thumbnail will display in the appropriate slot designating actual wallpaper assigned to that zone.
  4. Fixed missing Blend Alpha setting from the updated Music UI.
  5. A few other bug fixes that nobody noticed
I have lots of unrelated things to do this week, so I am unloading next update a little earlier than planned

Update - v3.18

  • Escape clause added to Widget-mode icons. Press and hold PLAY button and last open widget will close. If you do it again, next widget will close, etc ... LIFO order ...
  • Fixed bug with placement of folder icon images. These have to be placed into System/Flash UI folder as originally intended.
  • Hide or Show number of tracks contained in static MSC Playlists (Settings -> Browser -> Show PL Track Count). Default is to show ...
  • Set Maximum number of static playlists [10 to 1000] (Settings -> System -> Max Static Playlists). 100 is default. In order to configure more than 100, MSC Playlist editor needs to be updated. Reducing max number of playlists may improve performance slightly - especially if you do not intent on having too many.
  • Set Maximum number of custom icons [10 to 200] (Settings -> System -> Max Custom Icons). 40 is default. If you set to a lower value, extra icons are hidden, but not deleted from the filesystem (so you don't loose them). This may also improve performance slightly, so set it to number of icons you likely to create.
  • A feature that I love on my Stereo receiver - it automatically sets volume to a certain preset level when I turn it on - this way I don't go deaf forgetting that I had music blasted just a day before. I had same issue with S9 in my car, so I am adding control for that: Activate 'Reduce Volume on Start' feature if you like (Settings -> System -> Reduce Volume on Start), then set the volume to which you want S9 automatically set to if current volume is higher (settings -> System -> Max Start Volume). So if you left the S9 with volume 35, and max start set to 30, when you turn S9 on, the volume is set to 30.
  • Slide Art Speed Setting max value changed to 50 from 30.
  • Per request: Change color of album art frame (only useful if frame is being displayed - Settings -> Music -> Album Frame Color).
  • Per request: Reverse shake direction when changing album art (Settings -> Music -> Next Track Shake). Default is shake left to go to next track. Reverse it by choosing to shake right for next track.
Update - v3.19
  1. Support landscape mode wallpapers. Note that this does not actually rotate a UI or a wallpaper. If you are viewing an image in landscape mode and add it as a wallpaper, the rotation will be preserved, and the image will appear in landscape mode when its activated as a wallpaper. Note that Cowon overscans landscape images in the Picture viewer. This allows more of an image to be displayed but at the cost of cutting off part of an image. I don't really like that, so wallpaper will scale images without cutting anything off, so unless you use 480x272 wallpapers, scaling between Picture Viewer and the corresponding wallpaper will not match.
  2. Changed System -> Wallpaper Mode options by removing 'None' and 'Single' items - instead replacing both of them with 'Default'. Default implies Cowon's default wallpaper functionality. On first restart the system will automatically convert the .sol files ... so you should not need to do anything for the setting to migrate.
  3. Fixed a few small bugs related to removing wallpaper assignment from screens and reclaiming .sol file data after removal.
  4. Per Request (ls103rb @ ABI): Set color overlay for Music Footer Side A / Nav buttons - (Settings -> Music -> Footer Side A Color). Set color overlay for Side B (with Favorites, Shuffle, etc) - (Setting -> Music -> Footer Side B Color). To disable color overlay, set colors to pure white (255/255/255).
  5. Experimental Feature: Rearrange Music screen to allow Play Info area (with Album/Artist/Title and Hotlinks) to reside ABOVE Album Art (Settings -> Music -> Play Info Above Album Art). This makes the layout a bit tight so some further reorganization may be necessary.
Update - v3.20
This update is released as a patch to v3.19 to conserve bandwidth!

Changes
  1. Allow radio to keep playing when exiting to Main Menu.
  2. Bug Fix: Some custom icons jump around when icons are unlocked and you press it to run the command.
  3. Bug Fix: 'Fade In' mode was malfunctioning inside folders.
  4. Internal changes within the Launcher to support ability for widgets to attach to S9 notification events (this allows widgets to react to hard key presses, for example). It is needed for the new 'Lock Screen' widget.
  5. Control Radio from the Main Menu. If Radio is playing, Rew/FF hard buttons tune the channels. Play button toggles preset. If you had enabled tack display setting (Settings -> Menu N -> Current Track Display) as anything other than NONE, FM frequency fill be displayed in the top area of the menu.
  6. Toggle Lock Icons function directly from the theme bar by adding a lock icons button (User Settings -> Menu N -> Show Lock Icons Button). This is a precursor to a much more detailed customization of the Theme Bar ... much much later ... would anyone prefer it as a separate widget instead? Or is it more convenient to have it as part of the theme bar? Its kinda ugly there ...
Update - v3.21

Since it fixes a lot of bugs, I am pushing it out sooner (sick of updates yet????)

Changes

  1. Require a PIN to start S9 (see Pin Setting Instructions below).
  2. Per request: Set color of the Track/Playlist Count text in the Music Screen (User Settings -> Music -> Track Count Color).
  3. Fixed a bug where Lock Icons toggle accessed via the Theme Bar is not saved on main menus ...
  4. Fixed a missing setting used to change Swipe direction in Music UI.
  5. All custom icons are now tracked via a unique id, deleting an icon and creating it will no longer use old icon's position and page information - the icon would appear in a default location at all times. Deleting the icon will also reclaim its layout data - as long as delete is done via Custom Icon Manager. If you manually delete icondef_n.sol file, the space is not reclaimed (a cleanup function will be added later) - but there is no real harm to it. On first startup the Launcher will upgrade all existing custom icons and their layouts (I strongly suggest a backup of icondef_N.sol and menuN_layout.sol files before first boot).
  6. Fixed a bug when setting up and icon and targeting Menu 1 only - the icon does not appear anywhere (this worked ok for Menu 2 and ALL).
  7. Added a direct shortcut to the Custom Icon Manager. By default it should show up in the Utilities folder.
Pin Setting instructions
  1. Enable PIN setting: User Settings -> System -> Require PIN On Start
  2. Select 'Login PIN' setting underneath to enter the PIN.
  3. When Keypad is displayed, enter a pin (the longer the better of course). The '*' symbol is displayed instead of actual text. When pin is entered, press OK.
  4. Re-enter the pin. If you forget what the original pin was, just close the keypad, and the pin will not be saved. Otherwise, the pin is hashed via MD5 algorithm and stored in the .sol file.
  5. Restart the S9.
  6. You will be presented with a black screen and a keypad.
  7. Enter the pin and press OK to unlock.
  8. If you enter incorrect pin, the keypad does not go away.
  9. There is no 'lockout' penalty for trying too many times.

If you get really stuck, you will need a USB connection to fix it (so make sure you test the login while near a PC). Absence of a password will unlock the player, so deleting or clearing system_settings.sol file will take care of it. If you have a SOL File editor, you can just clear LoginPIN property, or set SecureLogin property to FALSE.

Note that the code includes MD5 Hash class, downloaded from http://www.devpro.it/as2_id_44.html.

Update - v3.22
  1. Improved image quality of a number of static icons and backgrounds (primarily in User Settings screen).
  2. Optimized file size and memory utilization of some attached graphics.
  3. Launcher now caches Custom Icon data (not images themselves) on boot, speeding up transition in and out of main menus. Adding/editing/updating icons will refresh the data next time Main Menu requests it. This should boost main menu performance.
  4. Unlimited Main Menu themes ... theoretically at least - and they don't have to be put in sequence (i.e. you can have mainmenu12.swf and mainmenu182.swf). Theme tracker will honor whatever number you use ...
  5. Theme Tracker initialization optimized to ignore unused main menu numbers - should should make boot a little faster.
  6. Fixed inconsistent sliding rate of panels in the User Settings screen.
  7. Allow rearranging of order of dynamic playlists. Go to the Playlist Manager, select a playlist, and use arrows up/down to move it. Spacing is a little tight so its easy to trip 'Configure Playlist' button by accident when using the arrows. I'll have to rearrange things at some point ... large playlists may take some time to move!
  8. Darkened the background of Playlist Manager to increase readability.
  9. 'Lock Icons' buttons moved to the right side of the Theme Bar - old location interfered with Theme Bar collapse button
  10. FW x.30 - Added the new album art size fscommand (not that I see if its doing anything useful - it may just load the art faster). It will honor the 'large art' setting. Also added the new Track display in Matrix mode (from the new FW release).
  11. Eliminated brief display of blank icon when loading custom icons ... this should make custom icons just appear on the stage.
Update - v3.23
  1. Bug Fix: Fixed a non-stop 'ripple' animation after adding a track to a dynamic playlist.
  2. Bug Fix: Disable per-screen wallpapers for DMB.
  3. Bug Fix: Fixed disappering Play Status in the music screen when accessing Album Info.
  4. Minor performance improvements in the Matrix Browser (force smaller album art, etc). Still laggy as hell ...
  5. Icon Manager now displays icon's run mode:
    1. Blank: Folders
    2. F - Flash Browser
    3. L - Launcher
    4. W - Widget
    5. M - Main Menu
  6. Bug Fix: Fixed preview display of Main Menu mode icons - they were being read from the wrong location for the preview.
  7. Improved double-tap sensitivity of the Matrix Coverflow title list (basically by increasing amount of time it will wait for second tap).
  8. Per request: Change color of the Clock in the top left corner of the Main menu (User Settings -> Menu N -> Header Clock Color) and Music screen (User Settings -> Music -> Header Clock Color). To revert back to the default value, set to colorto 215/255/50 (0xD7FF32).
  9. Remove brief flash of blank icon in the Icon Preview screen of Custom Icon Manager.
  10. Display a red [x] next to a disabled icon in the Custom Icon Manager.
  11. New 'App Settings' option in the User Settings screen. This will be used to allow other apps or UCI's to 'register' themselves with the User Setting screen. This way their own settings may be controlled via this screen as well. App registration documentation is lengthy so I won't actually bother writing anything out now unless there is interest from actual developers. Meanwhile I need this to allow controlling options in the 'Lock Screen' widget. The App Settings screen displays a list of all registered apps, with App name in column 1 and App author in column 2.

Update v3.24

  1. Bug Fix: Fixed lack of initial scrolling of Play Info in Music UI.
  2. Bug Fix: Allow custom icons with blank labels to show in the Custom Icon Manager.
  3. Bug Fix: Added 'Special Options' to Menu 3 settings.
  4. Per Request: Added an option not to expand album art to maximum size (if art is at 100x100, and large album art is turned on, this setting would allow album art to stay at 100x100) - User Settings -> Music -> Expand Album Art To Fit (on page 2). It is turned ON by default.
  5. Added ability for App Manager to support List type properties (needed for upcoming update to Lock Screen widget).
  6. Decreased 'User Settings' overhead of the Browser and Music UI - though it may not necessarily result in real performance gains (it should at least speed up return of Music UI from coverflow mode).
  7. Per Request: When Login on Startup is enabled, you can enter Welcome text (you can put your name there, etc). Name will scroll if it is longer than the screen width ... User Settings -> System -> Login Welcome Message
  8. To speed up album art loading and to reduce scaling issues, I disabled a 2pixel overscan of album art (272x272 was pushed to 274x274) ... seems like the need for that does not exist anymore. Would anyone find overscan a useful feature??? I could try to add it as a setting (i.e. overscan by 4 pixels), but dynamic overscan is a bit cumbersome.
  9. Bug Fix: Fixed incorrect resume mode when shutting off while in Text viewer.

Reminder - Menu 3 settings are for developers that would like to use the Settings screens - since I do not provide a mainmenu3.swf, changes made in that screen will not work unless another developer adds them. Pretty much the only thing that will work would be clearing the wallpaper.

Update - v3.25

  1. Global Shake Direction setting allows defining into which direction to shake for next activity (next track, next frequency, next picture) - User Settings -> System -> Shake Direction [Shake Left / Shake Right]
  2. Enabled Shake in Main Menu 1/2.
    • Since I don't yet have a toggle for it, it can be activated/deactivated in User Settings -> Menu N -> Enable Shake.
    • Shake controls both Music and Radio - depending on whichever one is currently active in the Main Menu.
    • Shake Direction for each mode is read directly from corresponding mode settings.
  3. Enabled Shake in the Radio UI.
    • Shake Toggle added to the Flip Bar (same icon as in Music UI).
    • Shake Direction can be changed in User Settings -> Radio -> Next Freq Shake [Shake Left / Shake Right / [Global] ]
    • [Global] uses value defined in item 1 above.
    • Shake works in Preset Tune and in regular Tune modes.
  4. Enabled Shake in Picture UI.
    • Shake Toggle crammed into the Flip Bar (any preference to just move it to User Settings???).
    • Shake Direction can be changed in User Settings -> Picture Viewer -> Next Picture Shake [Shake Left / Shake Right / [Global] ]
    • Shake only works in full-screen view of pictures - does not work in Slide Show.
    • Be careful because excessive shake will trigger rotation of the UI ... gets messy (I think that's why Cowon disabled ability to Pivot and Shake at the same time).
  5. Allow controlling color of Welcome Message if PIN Login is enabled - User Settings -> System -> Welcome Message Color
  6. Per request - Allow clearing of Favorites while in the Playlist Manager - User Settings -> Playlist Manager -> Global Settings -> Special Options -> Clear Favorites
  7. App Settings screen displays App's version when its settings are accessed.
  8. Fixed a bug in App registration with User Settings - as a symptom, it is possible that you may see two entries for Lock Screen widget in the App Manager. Delete first entry in that case ... it is possible that you loose the settings and have to reconfigure (the data was stored in the wrong place before). Alternatively, you can just leave both entries alone ...
  9. Fixed a bug where Radio navigation (next/prev) stops working in Main Menus after visiting Picture viewer.
Update - v3.26

Promoting the beta to a full release. Seems that its fairly stable and I can't yet find a way to increase performance ...

From the beta:
  1. Icon Themes - allows built-in icons to be replaced, and themes can be switched on the fly (see this post for instructions).
  2. Reworked Snap-To-Grid - it really never worked right before.
  3. When icons are being moved, gridlines will now be displayed by default. You can deactivate them in User Settings -> Menu N -> Show Gridlines

New stuff:
  1. Icon themes now enabled in Menu 2 as well.
  2. Allow deactivating the Selector Effect (a ripple when pressing buttons) in Main Menu (Settings -> Menu N -> Selection Effect). It can be se to 'None' or 'Ripple' (Default). There is a possibility of adding future effects ... one day.
  3. Remember last folder you were in (Settings -> Menu N -> Remember Last Folder). If enabled, any time you move in and our of folders, the system records it, and will restore the Stage back to that folder when Main Menu is reinitialized. This works even after you restart the device.
  4. Allow Header clock color to be set globally (this will affect other UCI's if they utilize standard Cowon header) - Settings -> System -> Header Clock Color. In order to allow main menus to have a custom look, they can still override global value when Settings -> Menu N -> Header Clock Color is set. To switch main menu to global color, set the value to 215/255/50 (default).
  5. Fixed a bug with disappearing icons (bug introduced in the beta) when icon overlaps a return arrow on another page.
  6. Fixed a bug where double-tap of an image does not scale it properly first time you do it. This is one of many issues with Picture viewer, and I think it will require major surgery to get Picture viewer to work as it should.
