With newer OS's, it is almost impossible to corrupt files from a "unsafe" USB disconnection.

What firmware are you running?

Do you have all of your files backed up on your computer? If so just reflash the firmware and you should be fine.

I'm not very familiar with Macs, but I know that you can format the S9 safely if you right-click on the device in Windows. Many people who thought their S9's were screwed got them working fine again after doing that. I'm sure there is a way to do this on a Mac, right?

See? You can format it without screwing it up

Try one more time.

If it fails to work, you're gonne have to get a new one. Believe me - once you a working piece of S9, you're gonna be one happy camper

Actually, I would recommend you to see of you can use a friends WIndows PC and format it with Windows Media Player. Just try and see if that makes a difference. If you don't have the chance to use a PC, then never mind
