is bbe a everchanging eq like the xfi or just mixed combination of mp, bbe, and 3d

Its the same like on previous Cowon MP3-players. Its a soundenhancement technologie containing MP, M3B, 3D and Stereo Enhance
But its slightly different to the previous because they put some work into it to make it even better.

Basically: Yes you create the same stuff on user eq
But there are small differences in sound. The D2 sounds great and the S9 sounds great too, a bit warmer but different people prefer different sound. It a question of taste

It's far more advanced than a mere EQ, correcting phase and amplitude distortions, with better transients and harmonics reproduction. I love BBE stuff, it sounds really good to my ears.

I don't know who came up with "BBE+", but I think it's a term coined by Cowon, not BBE Sound, Inc. It probably just refers to the current "BBE HD" version.
