Default Computer Doesn't Recognize X5

I've tried to connect my X5 to my laptop several times with different USB cords, including the original, and the "CONNECTED" screen appears on the player with the usual picture of a desktop connected to the X5, however, when I open "My Computer" it's not there.

I sent the laptop in for a screen repair and just received it back. Before it worked, now it doesn't. What could the problem be? drivers? USB cords? Crapped out X5? Laptop malfunction?

thanks in advance for your help!

Does it work on another computer?

If it does try disconnect any mapped network drives on the laptop and try connecting it again...

OK, it works on my roommates computer. He's using Vista; I'm using XP.

What's a mapped network drive, and how do I disconnect it?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm not very computer savvy. Thanks again for your help! At least now I did what I needed to do: swap out my audio files that I'd listened to too many times! But I'd like to be able to do it on my comp too.

Right Click on the My Computer Icon
Select Disconnect Network Drive...
A window will pop up telling you that _You have no Network drives to disconnect_ or a window listing the drives...

Hopefully you have a networked drive...
