Sorry if this is off topic, I'm new to these forums and it didn't seem to clearly fit in any of the categories. Which programs do you all use to organize your music. Many people (iPod owners) laud iTunes as the best thing around, but I don't guess you can use iTunes with an iAudio. So what would be the best thing besides that? Thanks

Mediamonkey! it can sync with the X5 too as it acts as a mass storage device.

Thanks guys, I'll check those out. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would certainly still enjoy hearing them.

Most of us don't use any programs. They are not needed with iaudio players. We manually organize our songs we copy over to the player manually.

No offence but post tiles that just say "question", "help" or "does it do this" really get on my nerves!

Does iTunes actually organise anything? I thought it just has an ID3 Database function, and almost every music player has that now.

But how do you guys create playlists? Don't you use a program to do this?

Winamp for life <3 And if I did actually make playlists I would use Winamp.. But the dynamic D-Playlist or wahtever it's called on the X5 works fine. I like how you can just bring up the menu and add a song/album/directory to a list..

I can understand the indpendence of not requiring a program to organize music/directories. It make sense to simply just copy over files to the X5 and be done with. But it seems to me if you have a lot of music, you would need a program to organize and the big one for me is "synching". How can one keep up with deleting songs from the computer and then doing it again on the x5? Again, I'm not a big fan of these programs but they do seem to help.

It's not hard. You delete a file on your X5 and remember to do it on the PC. I don't tend to delete many music files and besides I've been in the habit for years of organising my music properly, in the first place.

Actually, if you use windows, delete the music folder and create a briefcase named music. It's just a folder with a few special files in it, so the X5 won't care, but any folders you drag into it will be synchronized with their sources. It works pretty well.
