Hi I'm new to this great site and forum - thnx to you folks I've decided to buy an X5-L 30 GB - and eageringly awating it from Germany; couldn't findt it anywhere in Denmark yet - and probably also at bit more pricy in our small kingdom when it hit the shelves.
I was wondering if it's possible to manually switch between mono and stereo in radio-mode? I'm asking this because I'll ocasionally be listening to radio at places where the reception-quality isn't very good and by switching to mono I might avoid some of the worst noisy background hiss? My experience from a Creative Zen Micro is that in radio-mode you can't manually switch between mono and stereo but is forced to listen to whatever the Zen decides is appropiate; stereo when the signal is strong and mono when the signal is weak. At times quite annoying with this almost random flip-flop from mono to stereo and vice versa. ( I won the Zen in a stock-contest and selling it again in favor for the X5... ) |

Yes you will be glad to here that you can manually switch between mono and stereo for the FM radio even while you are listening. It is located in the settings screen. Good luck with the iAudio it is awesome!

Thnx, JR - now I'll be even more eageringly awaiting the X5...
![]() From what I've read and seen so far the X5 is simply awesome; besides functionality I like the design a lot as well - black is back at last! Thank god it's not in silver... or iPod-white for that sake! ![]() |
