They do, sort of...

Settings > System

Load Default or Clear Memory

IMHO, using the Icons on the main screen to reset the D2 to it's defaults is sort of like pressing and holding the Ctrl - Alt - Del keys at the same time to bring up Task manager in windows.

Just another way to let you try and recover the D2.

Deleting the System Folder and restarting the D2 is another way too...

I just got my D2 and ofc was messing around with it and hit the wrong thing lol.
thanks for the tip, the pics do show 1 less pic in this menu so now that I see it, it makes perfect sense to have to hit utilities instead of settings

btw, the player has been in my hands for about 20min fresh from purolator and I'm completely in love!

Just wanted to "Bump" this back up. It solved one of the things that was driving me nutzo. I would install 15 gb of songs and then fix tags or add a album cover and would have to delete them all and re-install them all taking about 3-6 hours. Yuck.

This worked - thanks~!

Duh!

Ok, I've proved my stupidity.

I'm game to show more.

How do you do the same reset on Firmware 3.57? I've tried about all the button combination possible and I don't get it back to the language selection section.

Do the same pattern, regardless of how the Icons are labeled...The pattern is what counts...

No..There is a selection under Settings > System > called Load Defaults.

Not sure if both ways do the same thing...

IIRC, the pattern method resets everything on the D2 to include Language and erases all User Settings (like POI) and the other one just performs a general reset without deleting anything.

Try them both and let us all know...
