Another option is to use embedded cover art... then tag must be ID3v2

Is there a size limit on the cover.jpg? Size in terms of kilobytes and also height x width.

most Album Covers are anywhere from 200x200-500x500 on most sites. i don't think there's a limit.

This is to give you a complete picture of the way D2 treat cover art for different formats. It will display cover art in the following situations:
1.- For all formats that handle D2 player: "cover.jpg". By putting a file with the cover art in a file named "cover.jpg" in the same folder of the music files. It implies that the album is stored in a separate folder. This don't affect when some music files comes with embedded cover art, both method can co-exists. In this case it will be shown embedded cover art. Size of this cover.jpg file has no limits for the moment... maybe is the size of pictures which are displayed in PICTURES option. This applies to MP3, OGG, FLAC, WMA, APE, WAV and AAC. 2.- Embedded cover art (cover art in TAG) works for MP3 and WMA, for MP3 format must be used TAG ID3v2. Despite that some programs support embedded cover art like FLAC, this won't display in D2.

So I am using OGG and have album art with the file name "cover.jpg" in the folder with my songs for each album and the album art still does not show on the screen. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? I copied the files, both music and the .jpg on my Mac if that helps with the diagnosis. Thanks

JetAudio will embed cover art in a WMA file and display it when played on the D2. Not sure about FLAC, but I will try it before I say it will or will not work. Right click on a WMA file > JetAudio > Edit Tag > Select the Picture Tab > Browse to the Folder that has the Album Art and select it. It even lets you resize the graphic from 50X50 to 300x300, which I guess are the best sizes for the D2. Copy the WMA file to your D2 and it will display the album Art...Try it once. EDIT: JetAudio doesnot have an option available when you right click on a FLAC file...

Made the correction with jetAudio (my favourite stand-alone player) and checked with J.River Media Center (My favourite organizer)... WMA display perfectly embedded cover art. I have corrected my post. Concerning FLAC I've tested with jetAudio version 7.1.1.3101 version VX and it display and allow editing of tags for FLACS files without any trouble. But it's not displayed in D2. (see enclosed pic)

Hmmm. Not all of my files were saved in the right place. When they were, the album art does show, but for some reason, not all of my albums show the file. Maybe I did something wrong but does anybody have an alternative to Album Aggregator?
Thanks so much for your help. |

To get album art, I either scan the Jacket from my CD's with a scanner or download the Album cover from Amazon. I just do a search on Amazon for the album and hope they have it. Currently all I have loaded on one of my SDHC cards are OGG files. I copy and paste the cover art to the Album folder and then copy the whole folder to the d2 or the SDHC card. I do the same thing for FLAC files. All my albums show the cover art when I play them.
