Default Cowon DC-DC adapter noise!

Horrible alternator and other electrical noise coming through the adapter!

Is this defective or poor design?

I will check grounding and all that tonight when i get home, but need to know if there are others with noisy car adapters?

Thanks.

First I've heard of it.

What type of adaptrr are you using? How is the adaptor connected to the car sound system? More information is needed.

Sorry for delay

It's the car, not the unit - still debugging, but anything on the ground side when the car is running, transmits spark and alternator loud noise to the L and R inputs, when they are grounded, and leakage when the connectino is made to any power unit. - it's a 1984 Caprice.

2 different X5's do it, and a USP adapter power unit does it too, so therefore, it's the car.

A cheap fix may be to get a Radio Shack ground loop filter. It plugs in line between the X5 and the input adapter. If it does not work; return it for a refund.

When I had an issue with car noise going through my speakers I was able to eliminate it by switching to a more heavily shielded (but still Radio Shack quality) cable.
