Default Does the D2 really work on a Mac?

i've been advised by amp3.co.uk to buy the D2, which i really, really want. However having tried 3 players including 2 iAudio's in the past, all of which have crashed or frozen, i'm skeptical about the D2. I think i should buy the ipod nano, even though i hate ipods, because i've never had a problem with any of my ipods. what do you think? i want to order today, so any input would be welcome.

Yes it does. I don't have a Mac, but a friend of mine does.

All I did was bring my D2 and my USB cable.. plug in, and we were ready to rock.

It's that easy!

I believe amp3 have a no quibble 7 day return policy. If you get the D2 and you don't like it , you can always send it back.

I use Linux and everything works fine for me.
Given the unix-like nature of Linux and Mac OS X, I dont see why it wouldnt work.

I dont know about itunes though... I dont think it will sync your songs for you.

i have a powerbook g4 running osx and it works perfrectly fine. use my d2 interchangeably between macs and pc. its the only reason why i prefer cowon products because you can use it between different platforms.

but like what someone said (d88) if their return policy is great...get it and try it. just double check before you connect it to your mac....which firmware is installed in it and that it is in MSC (UMS) setting to get it to work with macs.

I care to disagree. Though I've done this on my MAC at home, there is something about 10.5.2 that the D2 does not like. Just plugged mine in to a work computer to charge it, now all music is gone(says "no music") and the system folder is empty. However when I plug it back into the MAC via the USB everything is there....not fun times.

That is not a reason to disagree. That just means you did something wrong or your D2 or MAC uses the wrong settings.

No offence, but it is that easy. I was a bit surprised too.

You may be correct that I did something wrong but I too was surprised but for a different reason, that this happened. I've used my D2 on my MAC at home and have had no problems. Then again my MAC at home does not remove devices when going into sleep mode so Laropo I will check my settings on the computer at work tomorrow.

For now it's time for me analyze this prob and try to get my D2 working again...so off I go.
