Default D2 Firmware 3.57

3.57 DOWNLOAD
ALTERNATE DOWNLOAD

Seems to be the same changes as 2.57 with file number etc.

Release info translated by syplex
  • * Backup data before updating firmware, all files on the D2 internal memory will be deleted!
  • * Start with the firmware in the "0" folder. It must complete in order for the D2 to operate succesfully.
  • Flash the firmware files in order (ie, folder 0, 1, 2...)
  • The max number of music files supported has been increased to 3000-4000 for the internal memory and another 3000-4000 for the external memory.
  • The amount of recording time left is saved in a file, now handles the case of this file being deleted?
  • Recording should now stop when memory is full (didn't previously when recording @ 32kbps)
  • SD card error correction fixed (only if you're a beautiful woman? )
  • Fixed a problem where searching for a word with definitions off and then re-searching would cause the D2 to reboot

3.54\55 theme works
Loaded 3GB files at once on internal memory + SDHC preloaded with 14.8GB without DB corruption.

Can someone please post the link to where it was discussed how to do a firmware upgrade without removing the data from the internal D2 memory? Thanks!

Upgrade and database building was working without any problem. It is the same stable to me as 3.55 - with both I never had stability or database problems. Only buggy ogg-sorting was annoying but this is not fixed in 3.57.

I'm curious about the stability with big SDHC cards. There Cowon announced some improvement with 3.57 which I can't check on my own (no card yet).

I'll give this a go later. If the database corruption issue is better (I think I just took it cautiously on the last upgrade since I had problems before) then I can't see the harm. Maybe it would prevent the few freezes that I have had.

Other than that, I don't really need to upgrade!

I cannot recommend the 4.57 firmware though. There is a bug making DAB reception silent, though there is a workaround in the 4.57 thread.

I wonder if the DMB firmware has the same bug?

Nope, going to separate the treads instead. New people seem to confuse easy so after a page or 2 of 3.XX Vs 1.xx talk they'll be lost

Theese small firmware updates use to make no big changes but they really make thing better, very often. When I uppgraded to 3.54 from 3.53, the flash player became much more sensetive and better, is there any small things like that u have noticed yet?
