I tried posting this at a different site, but got no responses. Hopefully, someone here will be able to help me out.
I'm considering getting a Cowon D2 due to its great battery life and touted excellent sound quality. A couple of questions for all you cowon gurus out there. If it matters, I have a mac, not a windows pc. Lyrics: All my music is currently arranged in itunes. I've entered the lyrics to some songs which I can display on my ipod nano (I assume they're embedded somewhere in the ID3 tag). If I transfer these audiofiles to the D2, will it be able to display the lyrics? I don't need karaoke-style scrolling, just a simple static display will do. Shuffle: My audiofiles are three basic types - rock, classical, and podcasts. How does the shuffle mode on the D2 work? Can I just shuffle one category (i.e. rock) if I organize the files correctly? Any help greatly appreciated. |

Lyrics on the D2: I've never used them so I'm not sure if pre-embedded ones work or not but I do know that there is a programme called "LDB manager" which is used by those who do use the lyrics support. Maybe you could send one of your files to one of our members who could test it on the D2?
From what I can remember you can by genre...I may be wrong here so I am fully open to correction.

Indeed not sure if embedded lyrics will work, but I am willing to try. I guess there will be more people who are willing to do that.
And yes, there is a option to browse by genre. Mind that there has been a discussion about the bad shuffle. Although word goes, this has been improved in the new FW. |

Yes, you can shuffle by Genre. It shuffles off of the ID3 tag.

I think the only way to get lyrics work on the D2 is to add them with LDB manager wich can be found on cowon website or just google it.

thanks for the feedback.
I saw references to the LDB manager at the Cowon website, but it seems like it's windows only. Like I mentioned, I have a mac. Is there a mac version (or analog) out there somewhere? |
